"Do we know if she had family?" Dad asks breaking the silence that had been ringing, except for the occasional sobs and sniffles.

"Yeah. Us." Steve responds.

My mind went to Yelena who with the rest of her family, that were gone when Thanos snapped and my heart squeezed painfully.

I sucked in another breath through my mouth as my eyes stung from all the tears that didn't stop falling.

"Wha- What?" Thor asked in confusion.

"I just asked him a question–" dad starts.

"Yeah, you're acting like she's dead. Why are we acting like she's dead? We have the stones, right? As long as we have the stones, Cap, we can bring her back, isn't that right?" Thor says, still in denial. "So stop this shit. We're the Avengers, get it together."

"We can't get her back." Clint speaks up.

"Wha– what?"

"It can't be undone. It can't." Clint insists.

Thor lets out a dry chuckle.
"I'm sorry. No offense, but you're a very earthly being. Okay? We're talking about space magic. And 'can't' seems very definitive don't you think? Tell him Lis."

"Yeah, look, I know that I'm way outside my paygrade here. But she still isn't here, is she?" Clint snaps.

"No, that's my point–"

"It can't– be undone. Or that's at least what the red floating guy had to say. Maybe you wanna go talk to him, okay? Go grab your hammer, and you go fly and talk to him!!" Clint yells.
"It was supposed to be me. She sacrificed her life for that goddamn stone. She bet her life on it."

Bruce suddenly grabs a bench and hurls it clear across the lake but I was unfazed, numb.

"She's not coming back. We have to make it worth it. We have to." Bruce says trying to encourage us.

"We will." Steve responds.

"It's what she would have wanted." I said with determination.

Nat's sacrifice wouldn't go to waste. We'll bring everyone back safe and sound, no matter what it takes.

😞😔☹️

"All right. The glove's ready. Question is, who's gonna snap their freaking fingers?" Rocket asked after the gloves were ready.

"I'll do it." Thor speaks up, stepping towards the glove.

"Woah, woah, woah!" I exclaimed, rushing forward to stop him.

"It's okay." Thor tries to reassure me.

"No, no, no, whoa. Stop. Stop. Wait a sec. Hey, hey–" all of us protested.

"Wait, wait. Thor, just wait. We haven't decided who's gonna put that on yet." Steve tells him.

"I'm sorry. What, we're just sitting around waiting for the right opportunity?" Thor asked sarcastically.

"We should at least discuss it." Scott adds.

"No, no, sitting here staring at that thing is not gonna bring everybody back. I'm the strongest Avenger, okay? So this responsibility falls upon me. It's my duty." Thor insists.

"It's not about that–" dad tries but Thor shushed him.

"It's not that– Stop it! Just let me!" He grabs my hand that was on his chest, between his hands, his eyes tearing up. "Just let me do it. Just let me do something good. Something right."
