"Hyung, you don't need to, you know," Mingyu timidly said standing in front of a mart as he looked at the male beside him who was nonchalant as ever. "I promised that I'll go grocery shopping with you this weekend," Wonwoo shrugged as he texted someone. Mingyu was happy just to know that the other didn't just casually say it to him last time, not to mention he kept his words. His smile stretched as he went to pick up a cart for them to shop.
"Let's go then," Mingyu said as he was ready with his cart to have a fun time with the person he loved. "Uh, wait," Wonwoo said as he looked at his right to find something or someone. He then looked back at the younger who had a confused expression on his face. "Hyoo Rim-ah is coming too," he added to clear up the younger's confusion as he again tried to find the said person in the crowd who was yet to come but what he didn't notice was how quickly the other's smile faltered.
'What are you being sad about? Isn't it so obvious that you're not his priority,' Mingyu mocked himself in his mind as he tried to keep away the tears that were forming in his eyes. He looked down as he blinked away the tears, not to stain his face which would give away his facade that he had built over past years.
"YO! BESTIES," he heard someone yell from a short distance. He didn't need to look up to find who it was, because he knew it just from listening to the beautiful voice for years and he would never forget it, his best friend and the love of the person he loved. He looked up to find the male beside him having the largest smile on his face which could only be found when the older one was satisfied with the book he was reading and maybe when he had ramen.
He saw his best friend waving at them as she sprinted towards them. Wonwoo gladly returned with a beautiful curved smile. Mingyu also wanted to wave back at her but the jealousy inside him was burning his inside which was so hard to ignore at this point. She smiled, showing her signature smile to them as she came to a halt in front of them. Mingyu tried to smile back at her which kinda looked awkward to Wonwoo for some reason but he shrugged as he looked at the girl, standing in front of him, waving her beautiful mid length curvy hair.
"Let's go then," Wonwoo said, leading her like a gentleman he was. Mingyu clutched the handle of the curt, nearly twisting it with his bare hand. "You can do it, Mingyu-ah," he muttered, encouraging himself as he pushed the cart into the mart.
"Gyu-ah, it's so cute. Let's take it," Hyoo Rim said crouching down a bit as she pointed at a cute little cabbage. Mingyu chuckled before flicking the back of her hair. "Yah!" she screamed at him, throwing daggers through her narrowed eyes, patting the spot she had been flicked. "Yah, I didn't even flick with 10% of my strength," Mingyu said as he rolled his eyes, leaving her behind, pushing his cart.
"Yah, aren't we buying it," she said, tugging the taller boy's sleeve, looking at him with her puppy dog eyes, trying to convince him to buy that cabbage. Mingyu couldn't but roll his eyes for the second time, pulling his sleeve away enough for her not to grab onto. "Yah, those are too small to contain much fluid in them. If you want to buy cabbage then..," he looked around to find a perfect one he was looking for which he did in a few seconds as he picked one up to show it to her. "This one. It's big and it contains enough fluid," he said as a matter of fact as he gently put it down on his cart.
"Yeah, yeah. All pretentious words," she pouted at him rolling her beautiful eyes as she looked behind her to see Wonwoo having an expression she was not familiar with. But as soon as he saw her looking at him he smiled at her, even though the unfamiliar jealousy was making him feel sick from inside out but it was enough to convince her that everything was okay and she need not to worry as she smiled back before falling the tall puppy who was walking ahead, Wonwoo trailing behind her.
Yes, Wonwoo knew about his own feelings and maybe, yes, maybe he was ready to face it. But maybe in the end what he needed was a little push which he didn't know where to get.
