Right now Mingyu was regretting his decision about letting the other male work in his place who was editing some pictures from their last hangout where they all went on hiking. Wonwoo wasn't someone to talk about his feelings so easily unless he was drunk enough to do so but he somehow was capable of doing so by saying just a single word which might look like a natural complement to others but to Mingyu it was different because he knew the other boy inside out.
Mingyu was capable of telling when the glass boy complemented someone and when he was admiring a picture or when he was just open-mindedly declaring his love for the person he liked, it was clear as day to Mingyu which irked the shit out of him, knowing about the facts he would always so much like to avoid. But here he was, sitting on his own couch in his own bloody apartment, listening to the love confession of his loved one who didn't bother sparing a look at him from the moment he had his eyes fixed on his laptop.
"Hyung, can you stop?" Mingyu said as he couldn't take it anymore but somehow the words came out so bitterly which somehow managed to spit out his real feelings which didn't go unnoticed by the other boy. "Are you okay? Did I do something wrong?" Wonwoo asked worriedly, putting down his laptop from his lap to look at the younger. "Did you do something wrong? No, it was me. It was me from the very beginning who was wrong," he bitterly thought out loud without realizing.
"What do you mean?" Wonwoo asked, not understanding what the other boy had meant, trying to crease his hand which got swatted by the younger who couldn't hold it in himself anymore, letting his tears fall down. "Min_gyu!" Wonwoo didn't even realize that his own voice was shaking until he heard it himself. "Can you tell me what is wrong? Is something bothering you?" he asked, putting his hand on his thighs, rubbing circles to calm the now crying boy whom he had always thought to be the strong and positive one, who never cried once in front of him nor Hyoo Rim.
Mingyu felt like his world had come to a stop as he saw the other boy's worried eyes. He didn't know what came over him as he hugged the other boy who was a bit perplexed by the sudden skin ship but hugged back after a few seconds which made him realize he would never be noticed by the said person no matter how much he loved him, he would always go back where he belonged. He then pulled away from the other, looking down at his lap as he didn't have the courage to look him in the eyes.
"Mingyu, tell me what happened," Wonwoo said as he put his hand on his thigh to reassure him that he would be there for him no matter what which made Mingyu scoff internally before looking at the other's beautiful eyes which always had the power to calm him down. Wonwoo squished his thigh, looking deep inside the younger's eyes, encouraging him to tell what was wrong. 'All you need is a push, right? Let me give it to you, hyung,' he thought as a soft sad smile adorned his lips.
"Are you sure you want to know? Then let me tell you something, hyung. I also like her," he said, not breaking the eye contact even for a mere second to make it believable. "Wh_what did you say, Mingyu-ah?" Wonwoo stumbled on his words as he pulled away his hand from the other's thigh making the other look at his hand while bitterly scoffing at himself as he knew it was coming.
"I said I like her too, hyung. So, I won't be just watching you from the sideline anymore, hyung. If you can, take her away from me," he challenged the older boy who was still having a hard time to understand what was happening. "Why didn't you say something sooner?" Wonwoo finally asked, breaking the silence between them.
"I thought I'll get used to it, get used to seeing you two together but I was wrong, so wrong," Mingyu couldn't but cry out, revealing his true feeling that he had been keeping to himself, bottling up inside him which was breaking him to pieces. "Sorry, you've been going through so much for me," were the last words Wonwoo said before leaving him alone in his apartment which felt cold to him as he pulled up his knees to his chest, hugging them tightly as he let himself cry out loud, feeling the blank space inside his heart that would never be filled by anything nor anyone.
"Sorry, hyung but it's for the best, for you, for Hyoo Rim, for me too," were the last words before he passed out on the couch, feeling the tiredness getting to him after crying out his heart.
