act one; twilight
EDWARD HAD BEEN OBSESSING OVER ISABELLA SWAN FOR THE ENTIRE MORNING SO FAR. Now it was lunch, and the vampires could hear then talking inside meanwhile Luca and Eleanor were in their old little world. They began walking past the windows towards the door, "She's talking about us." Rosalie scoffed, "This isn't fair, I can't hear what they say." The human pouted playfully.
"The blond girl, that's Rosalie. and the big dark-haired guy, that's Emmett. They're like a thing. I'm not even sure that's legal." Jessica began describing the family to Bella.
"Jess, they're not actually related." Angela defended, "Yeah, but they live together. It's weird." The nosy brunette whined.
"And, okay, the little dark-haired girl's Alice. She's really weird. And she's with Jasper, the blond one who looks like he's in pain." Jessica continued. Alice paid little attention as Jasper spun her around momentarily.
"That's Eleanor, she's different from the rest of the family in a way, and she's with Luca Campbell. He used to be part of the football team and he's grown up here, then they got together and suddenly he's all about her." Jessica stated, a hint of jealousy in her tone.
The couple overheard as they walked past, and Luca wrapped a protective arm around her waist. He wasn't there for the chance of immortality and the other perks of being a vampire. He couldn't care less what happened to him, as long as he got to be with Eleanor.
"Dr. Cullen's like this foster dad/matchmaker." Jessica stated, "maybe he'll adopt me." Angela said half-jokingly.
Bella stared at Edward through the window. Out of the Cullens, she wanted to know about him the most, she had a thirst for it. "Who's he?" She questioned.
"That's Edward Cullen, he's totally gorgeous, obviously. But apparently nobody here's good enough for him." Jessica was also spiteful of the fact she got rejected a few times by her. The words brought a very temporary smirk to his brooding face. An ego boost, exactly what he needs.
At their little table, Eleanor's chair was touching Luca's and her legs were resting over his. "You know, for 'blending in' your choice of food isn't very subtle." Luca joked.
Emmett just looked at him confused, "What's wrong with my eggs?" He popped one into his mouth, wincing at the taste.
"Let's see, you've got an opened but untouched banana which is touching the table, gross. And nobody eats a bag of boiled eggs. It's not normal." Luca pointed out, "His salad is the best out of everyone's." He added, gesturing to Jasper's plate. This made Eleanor laugh slightly, he wasn't wrong at all.
Eleanor went to pinch one of his eggs, since she was the one who needed to eat. "No, where's your food. Didn't Esme make you some?" Emmett pulled the bag away, defensive much.
"I left it in the fridge, and don't get so protective. You can't even eat that without it coming back up." The girl wasn't happy one bit, she had left over pasta bake from the night before with chorizo slices in, and she left it in the fridge.
"Here." Luca pulled out some of his food and gave her some sandwiches.
Before they knew it, it was time to go to class. Eleanor and Luca walked hand in hand to Maths. Eleanor looked around to check for her siblings, "What do you say to ditching the rest of the day? If we need help with homework and shit, my siblings have done all this like a hundred times already." She proposed.
"I could never say no to you, let's sneak out the back." Luca pulled her through the groups of people making their way to their next class. They spent the rest of the school day wandering through the forest, having quality time with another without someone, with enhanced hearing monitoring what they do constantly. They made sure to make it back to school before the end of the day, so they wouldn't suspect anything.
"Don't think of skipping, Edward's a nosy little shit and always has to know what we're all thinking." Eleanor instructed, they were at the cars waiting for the bell to ring somewhere in the next five minutes.
"What do I think of then?" Luca huffed, Eleanor had a smirk on her face telling him everything he needed to know. He smiled at the thought momentarily, before scrunching up in disgust, "I'm not thinking of you like that, he's your brother." Luca groaned.
"Come on! One small thought like that, and it'll keep him out of that head of yours for a while." Eleanor pleaded slightly. It may not seem like a big deal, but if Edward finds out she skipped the last two hours of school to hang out with her boyfriend, then he'll tell their siblings and parents, and she'll have to suffer their constant berating.
Soon enough, they showed up at the cars. "How are you two so early?" Emmett threw his bag into the back of the jeep.
"Class got released early, and for being super fast and all, you walk very slow." Eleanor teased.
"Hush Elle, you can't talk about being slow. Have you seen how long it takes you to get ready in the morning?" He grinned, earning a smack across the head from both Eleanor and Rosalie.
"Hey! Don't bully me, it's not fair when you both gang up on me." He whined.
"I've got to go home now, see you tomorrow." Luca whispered in Eleanor's ear, "Love you." He added.
"Love you too." She turned to him and gave him a short kiss before he left.
"Someone's all loved up." Rosalie teased after he left. They did enjoy teasing Eleanor and Luca sometimes, Emmett more than the rest, and Rosalie wasn't much better. But, at the end of the day, they were glad she'd found someone to cherish. Whether it'd be her mate or not, they believed they were meant to be. Both of them found complete happiness within each other,
Rosalie respected Luca for never pushing Eleanor's boundaries and taking it at her pace, unlike some boys their age who'd only want to get some form of action. That'd be one thing she'd always thank Luca for, because never in her eternal life would she wish what had happened to her before she changed on anybody, not even her worst enemy. It's an experience she wanted to shield everyone from.
