A YEARS OLD FAMILY ONLY TRADITION; BASEBALL DURING A THUNDERSTORM. BUT NOW BELLA WAS COMING. "It's not like she'll be able to play? Just stand on the sidelines." Eleanor huffed, it's not that she cared about her coming, it's just she found these games as a family thing only.
She couldn't care less if someone didn't want to go, but she was the only person who has bunked a game off. Eleanor never let Luca come. Sure, they considered him family, but they kept it within the family.
Eleanor just found Edward blatantly disrespectful for inviting her without telling the family till the last minute, so she decided to invite Luca, as long as her mother okayed it. And thankfully she did.
The human couple stood to the side of the home base, they were awaiting Edward and Bella, and in the meantime the family practised with minimal effort. Sort of like when you're forced to do a sport in PE, but you do it to the bare minimum. "No matter how many of these I've watched, I still don't understand baseball, doubt I ever will." Eleanor said, dumbfounded.
"Just watch, surely it's not that hard to keep up with?" Eleanor scoffed in response to Luca's question, not that hard to keep up with? Then the thought that Luca had never seen them run, they've never had a reason to rush anywhere, they had all the time in the world, literally. Eleanor had told Luca about their raw speed, but he thought she was over-exaggerating it, which she has done on a few occasions.
"Rose!" Eleanor cupped her mouth, even though the vampire heard her anyways. Rosalie looked over and held a thumbs up, "Would you mind going to the tree line, and run to the one opposite the field please?" Eleanor shouted, Rosalie walked over to the place she was told to start at.
"Ooo, Emmett, go race her! Pretty please?" Eleanor added, to which the bear-like man instantly agreed, which is ironic to call him, since his death was being practically mauled by a bear.
They both crouched to the floor, ready to take off, "Go!" Eleanor shouted, the human couple watched as they ran across, too fast for their eyes to comprehend, but they could make out their silhouettes speeding past, it looked like a shadow. Rosalie sped around the bases in practice, "Woah. You weren't joking. They're literally sonic." Luca gasped in awe.
Rosalie's running came to a halt right in front of the couple, "Do I look like a short blue hedgehog to you?" She glared between the two, mainly Luca. And Luca looked as if he was shitting himself, don't blame him. "You got the short part nailed." Eleanor whispered, and the blonde's head snapped to her. "I love you. But, you are intolerable sometimes." Rosalie gritted and returned to Jasper's side, messing with her 'twin'.
Finally, Bella and Edward had shown up. Bella stood besides Eleanor, whilst Luca grabbed his girlfriend a thicker coat from the car. "How'd you get your family to accept Luca?" Bella questioned timidly, she question sort of took Eleanor by surprise. Was she this desperate for approval.
"Not a clue in the world, better of asking them." Eleanor shrugged, an audible gulp was heard from bite, "They won't bite. Can't speak for Rosalie or Jasper though." Eleanor joked, and stopped her laughing when she noticed how on edge she put Bella.
"Jasper could feel our feelings to another, and Alice tried looking into our future. She doesn't know how or when we'll turn, but she sees we'll join them and we're mates. How we feel for another right now is our mate bond, just extremely toned down as we're human. But I don't know what I'd do without him. He is, and always will be, my greatest love." Eleanor smiled at the thoughts of her and Luca, side by side forever.
