START OF ACT TWO; TWILIGHT - NEW MOON

chapter; twelve

act two; twilight - new moon

TODAY WAS SEPTEMBER 13TH, BELLA'S BIRTHDAY, AND THE CULLENS - ALICE - DECIDED TO THROW HER A PARTY. "Happy birthday!" Alice chirped, jumping over the staircase banister. Jasper walked down the stairs like a regular person would.

"Shh, I thought I said no presents?" Bella hushed the pixie, separating from their hug. "I've already seen you open it, and guess what? You love it." Alice was a ball of energy, on a shit ton of crack. According to Eleanor, that was the perfect way to describe the cold one. "You're gonna wear it tonight, our place."

"I stand by what I said this morning, I'm glad you fixed your hair." Eleanor appeared besides Jasper, "It wasn't that bad." Jasper looked down at the lone girl, "I'd rather bleach my eyes than let you have that style again." Eleaner teased the blonde vampire.

"Can it even grow back? You're dead." Eleanor questioned, earning his signature smirk. "In my many years, I still don't understand how our bodies work like this." Jasper mused.

"Happy birthday." Eleanor whisper-shouted to Bella, receiving a playful glare. "It was a loud whisper," Eleanor shrugged.

"Jasper! No fair with the mood control thing." Eleanor heard Bella as she walked away to meet Luca at their first class of the day.

Later that day, after school, Alice began decorating the living room. "Alice, no more, or you'll have done way too much." Eleanor groaned, looking around. "I'm getting some food." The human mumbled and turned to the kitchen.

Everyone was dressed up, and Eleanor loved the opportunity. She loved going full glam and getting Rosalie to do her hair or make-up, sometimes both. Today she just did her hair, whilst Eleanor did a simple but cute look.

She returned to the room of the party with spicy Doritos in hand, only to find twice as many decorations than when she left. "What the-" "Don't finish that sentence Eleanor Cullen." Esme scolded. Eleanor rolled her eyes and looked back at the vampire, "I was gone for not even five minutes." Eleanor looked around, "Doesn't matter. It's time!" Alice skipped up the stairs to retrieve Edward and the birthday girl.

"We tried to rein Alice in." Carlisle told Bella when she got to the bottom of the steps. "I did that actually." Eleanor mumbled. "As if that were even possible." Esme hugged Bella, finishing Carlsile's point.

Emmett dragged a grumpy Rosalie to the side of the room, whilst Alice snapped a picture of Esme and Bella with a camera, she borrowed from Bella's bag.

"Dating an older woman. Hot." Emmett grinned at Edward, but confused at Edward's reaction, "What?", "Edwards like over one-hundred. And that's gross." Eleanor smacked the back of Emmett's head.

"You first, Rosalie." Alice handed the blonde a box, which Rosalie immediately gave to Bella. "It's a necklace, Alice picked it out." Rosalie told her, "Thanks." Bella nodded.

"Show me the love." Alice pulled Edward to Bella's side, and snapped a quick photo of the two.

Alice turned to grab a bigger box, "This one's from Emmett." Alice told her, and Bella shook it, confused at the lack of weight.

"Already installed it in your truck. Finally, a decent sound system for that piece of-" Emmett grinned, proud with himself, but was cut off by Bella, "Hey! Don't hate the truck." Her words earned a few laughs.

"Open Esme and Carlisle's." Alice handed a smaller blue box, topped with white ribbon. "Just a little something to brighten your day." Carlisle spoke, "Yes, you've been looking kind of pale lately." Esme teased the girl.

While trying to pull the ribbon off, she sliced her finger along the edge. "Paper cut." She hissed, and thought nothing of it. The blood dripped down her finger and onto the worn beige rug.

A small, predator-like growl came from Jasper. Edward, hearing his thoughts, pushed Bella and sent her flying across the room. Edward threw Jasper in the opposite direction and into the grand piano. Carlisle gently pushed Esme out of the way, before he and Emmett went for Jasper.

Rosalie stood protectively in front of Eleanor and Luca. She knew Jasper definitely wouldn't hurt them, but she just wanted to take a precaution. "Jaz! Ssh! It's okay." Alice held Jasper's face. His eyes golden brown seconds ago were now pitch black. "It's just a little..." Alice turned at the scent of blood.

Bella had a cut on her arm, and blood oozed out and down her arm. The whole family stared at her. Jasper's hissing filled the silence. "Get Jasper out of here." Carlisle ordered and was at Bella's side at an instant.

Emmett pushed Jasper out of the room, and Alice took small steps backwards, "I'm sorry, I can't." Alice followed Jasper and Emmett to the front of the house, Esme and Rosalie soon followed after. Eleanor and Luca decided to go outside for some fresh air, and to check on the family.

"Did he have to push her into a table filled with glass and ceramic items?" Eleanor questioned her boyfriend as they got outside. "Now's not the time Eleanor." Esme looked over to Jasper, sitting on the front steps, further away from everyone, his head in his hands.

"I'll see you soon. I think you guys need some space tonight." Luca whispered to Eleanor and smiled at his second family before getting into his car.

"Jaz, silly question, but are you okay?" Eleanor sat on the step besides her brother. "Don't. What if I hurt you?" Jasper shuffled away slightly, "We both know you wouldn't." Eleanor whispered "And it's not your fault you find her blood a bit nicer smelling. It doesn't help that she's Edward's bloodsinger, and you can feel his bloodlust." Eleanor continued her point.

"Now, go hunt for a bit. It'll do you some good." She ushered him to get a break, just as he left Edward appeared, "I'll find him later." He turned on his heel and left again.

"Did you get hurt at all?" Esme checked the human girl over, "Mum, I'm fine. I promise." Eleanor dismissed the woman.

"Rose? Are you good?" Eleanor noticed her sister's stressed look and how she paced slightly whilst mumbling to herself.

"I knew something bad would happen, I told everyone that she'll only bring chaos, and I said when she came over for the first time that something bad could happen and it'll implement the entire family." She voiced her concerns, and basically told everyone she was right and they were wrong. Par Eleanor, who'd sit and listen to Rosalie's rambles about this since the start.
