act two; twilight - new moon

A KNIFE COULD CUT THROUGH THE TENSION IN THE OLYMPIC COVEN'S HOUSEHOLD. "We aren't leaving." Eleanor dismissed Edward's suggestion. Edward suggested a meeting, beginning a few arguments. Which did not help with the family's tension.

"We have to." Edward stood firm, "Why! Why do we have to leave? It's not like you killed the girl, just scratched up her arm a bit." Eleanor scoffed. "We could've though, we can't let it happen again. So we leave." Edward retorted.

"It's not up to you." Eleanor held up a finger so she could continue her line of thought. "Even if it was, you're totally okay with breaking the poor girl's heart? One that you can't be apart from, so you watched her sleep." Eleanor spat. "Yes, if that's what needs to be done." Edward lied, he was not totally okay, he just wanted to ensure Bella's safety.

"I don't believe you for a goddamn second. And what am I meant to do with Luca? Because if you make us fucking move, I might make a nice little life for myself, alone, in this big-ass house." Eleanor groaned at her brother, "Move on. You're still a teen." Edward shrugged like it was nothing.

"Move on? Move on! Everyone tells me that they're positive Luca would be my mate. You've told me that. I'm sorry it doesn't compare to your obsession with her because of her blood." Eleanor shouted, "It's not my fault you decided to be with your bloodsinger. You have a mate out there somewhere, and one day, I hope you meet her with Bella so you can see your fucked up decisions." Eleanor yelled at him.

Her words hit a nerve in the vampires, and he sped in front of her. His teeth bared, and he growled slightly, "What are you now? A fucking dog?" She stared up at him.

"Eleanor, I swear to-" "What are you gonna do? Huh? Rip my throat out for hitting a nerve about your precious human, you're so quick to abandon? I fucking dare you." Eleanor cut him off, "Oh wait, if you did that, you'd have to live with that for the rest of your eternity, and the entire family would as well." She added.

"Just. Shut. Up." Edward gritted. "Hmm, no. Don't tell me to shut up, and instead get out of my face and have your little tantrum about the other day elsewhere." Eleanor spat and stormed off.

About an hour or so passed, Eleanor went to go grab a drink, but she walked through the living room and the family were still there. She came back into the room, a glass in one hand, and a bot of apple slices in the other. "Edward convinced Carlisle." Rosalie broke the silence.

"What?" Eleanor struggled to hold back tears. Before she could think, her glass was flying at Edward's face, smashing upon impact. "We're leaving?" A single tear fell down her cheek.

She yelled at Edward continuously in his face, and took some anger out on him. She slapped and punched him. It hurt her more than it'd ever hurt him. "Ellie, you'll hurt yourself." Edward tried stopping her, but it was no use.

"Don't call me that again. It's all your fucking fault." She spat, Rosalie pulled Eleanor away and wrapped her arms tightly around the human, without hurting her. "I don't wanna leave." Eleanor muttered, and she broke like a dam. Her legs gave up on her, and she cried into Rosalie's chest, unable to support herself. "I'll take her." Esme took Eleanor out of Rosalie's arms and carried her upstairs, where she soothed her as best as she could.

A few days passed that the Cullen's weren't in school, three to be exact. Eleanor refused to be in the same room as Edward, and mainly isolated herself to her room. Luca knew the family needed time after the party with Jasper.

Whereas, Bella just waited for them to return and stared at the table, every single day. She wondered where they were and why she hasn't heard from Edward since he dropped her home that night.

On the third day, after school Edward took Bella deep into the forest before telling her they were leaving, and decided to leave him there. But Eleanor decided to show up at Luca's house and tell him.

"El!" Luca's mother greeted Eleanor, "It's been a while, did you not go school again today?" The woman asked Eleanor, "No, just family problems to resolve." Eleanor laughed, "he hasn't got home yet, you can wait in his room if you'd like, and I won't tell him you're here." His mother laughed, and let Eleanor pass through.

The next ten minutes felt too long, but it made everything seem real when Luca came through the door. "Ellie!" He smiled at her presence and wrapped his arms around the girl. "Something's wrong." He pulled away and looked at her for answers.

She had put on a brave face, and blocked her emotions, but it was cracking by the second. "Edward want's us to leave, and he convinced Carlisle." Eleanor couldn't bring herself to look at the boy, "How long?" Luca sat on the bed, and looked up at his girlfriend. "We may not return." Tears burned Eleanor's eyes.

"Okay, but one day, I'll find you. I'll always wait for you." Luca swallowed the lump in his throat. "Don't. I want to be able to think of you happily married, with kids. Something we wouldn't get if you stayed in my family's world." Eleanor dismissed him.

"Can I ask one thing before you leave?" Luca questioned, Eleanor nodded, "Can we have one last moment together." Luca wanted this one last thing as their goodbye, he received a nod again, but she hadn't a clue what he meant until he kissed her and pulled her into him. Their night and the kisses felt stronger than ever knowing it could be their last.

Eleanor threw her clothes back on, "Could we at least visit each other?" Luca asked before she left, "Carlisle told me, it'd be harder on us both. And it'd be best if we cut contact all together. I told him it'd be best if he didn't leave." Eleanor gave him once last kiss and went to the window.

"Just know, if it were up to me, I would stay in contact. Hell, I wouldn't even leave. I'm sorry." Eleanor looked away sheepishly, "Exactly, it's not up to you, so don't be sorry. No matter what happens I'll always love you." Luca told her, "I'll always love you too." Eleanor smiled at him. "Dead or alive." They said in union.

Eleanor climbed out the window and down the tree she's snuck into his room by multiple times in the past.
