chapter; twenty-eight
act three; twilight - eclipse

IT WAS VERY TENSE IN THE CULLEN HOUSEHOLD RIGHT NOW. IT WAS DAY FIVE AND ELEANOR HADN'T WOKE UP, HOWEVER LUCA WOKE UP ON DAY THREE. The baby was a little girl who was just called "the baby" until Eleanor and Luca chose a name. Luca had not shown any temptations around his daughter. They assumed that it was his literal blood that overshadowed his newborn instincts and hunger.

While waiting for the couple - now Eleanor - to wake up. Rosalie put the baby on Eleanor's chest because she read it helped them bond. She didn't want the baby to suddenly meet a new person and be scared by her own mother, so she sat in the room with the baby, talking to her on most nights.

Luca was hanging on by a thread, he was scared she'd never wake up, and the only thing he'd have of her is their daughter. He loved their daughter with his entire being, and when he looks at her and sees a future without Eleanor, he knows he'll be in pain when he sees her due to the already striking resemblance. But he also knows he will tell her all the tales of Eleanor to keep her alive in spirit.

Thinking about the future normally made him in a grim mood for the rest of the day, which wasn't helpful for Jasper, as the newborn's emotions were much stronger.

A strong gasp startled Luca, he looked over to see Eleanor bounce up, her breathing heavy. Her eyes studied everything she couldn't see before. The faint dust particles in the air, the water droplets on the grass.

Eleanor's crimson red eyes snapped to Luca, and they stared at each other as if waiting for one to make the first move - like predators fighting for dominance.

And the first move was Eleanor.

Using her newfound speed, she had tackled Luca onto the floor in light speed. She was straddled atop of him, and her arms around his neck scared to let go. "I thought I lost you." She mumbled, venom pooled in her eyes, although it'd never leave them. "You... You were on the brink of death." Eleanor's head buried further into his neck.

Luca managed to get up, hands under Eleanor's thighs to support her, whilst her legs were wrapped around his waist. "You've been out for days. I've never missed anyone more in my life." He removed one hand from her thighs and moved it into her hair, where he ran his fingers through it.

A thought suddenly sparked into Eleanor's head. She removed herself from Luca, a hand slapped to her stomach. "Oh my god. My baby, I didn't? Oh my god!" Eleanor gasped, sobs erupted from her, as she crumbled into Luca's arms.

He cupped her face, "Hey, Eleanor. Listen to me. She's fine, and beautiful. Like you." Luca soothed the girl and placed a kiss on her forehead. Luca guided Eleanor out to where the family was.

None of them wanted to spook her with the newly heightened senses and emotions. "Eleanor, would you like to meet her?" Esme stood by her daughter's side, rubbing Eleanor's arms soothingly. The woman in question nodded her head rapidly, she was desperate for this.

Rosalie entered the room, a sleeping baby wrapped up like a burrito in a fluffy blanket. "Little baby, officially meet your momma." Rosalie cooed, showing off the baby to Eleanor. She went to pass it to her, but Eleanor stood back, afraid.

"What if I hurt her? She's frail, human, and I'm parched. Shouldn't I at least hunt first?" Eleanor stuck her hands up. When she first saw the girl, she was beyond mortified that she'd accidentally crush the baby, or suck her dry.

They all shared glances around the room, and nodded in agreement to their silent conversation. "I'll take you both." Emmett volunteered.

In hind sight, Emmett may not have been the best person to show Eleanor how to hunt. But he did make it fun. They had silly little competitions, but he also gave some advice, which was gladly appreciated. Until Emmett opened his mouth about a 'clean kill'.

"Please! You come home covered in mud and a bit of blood on your chin. If I want a 'clean kill' I'll talk to Carlisle, Esme, or anyone but you and Jasper!" Eleanor exclaimed, putting air quotes around clean kill.

When Eleanor felt overly satisfied with herself, they headed home. The excitement was radiating off of the girl. "I'm ready!" Eleanor smiled, walking into the living room. She took a seat on the sofa and awaited the baby.

She was laid cautiously into Eleanor's arms, while everyone stood by just in case. The movements had woken her slightly. The baby made a small fuss, which brought a smile to Eleanor's face. She was beyond speechless, just staring down at the girl in her arms. "What's her name?" Eleanor looked up at her fiance.

"I decided to wait for you to wake up, so we could choose it together. So for a couple of days it's been related to baby girl." Luca let out a quiet chuckle.

"Emily." Eleanor smiled down at the baby, she loved the name. "After my mother." She added. Eleanor had heard stories of her parents from her family, and she thought it'd be an honour to her mother.

"They would've loved you, Luca and little Emily Jr." Carlisle spoke up, kissing the top of Eleanor's head.

The rest of the night Emily coul1d be found with one of three people - Eleanor, Luca or Rosalie. Though Rosalie and Eleanor were together most of the time and combined their 'baby time'.

"Where are you going?" Eleanor questioned. It was later that night, and everyone par Eleanor was dressed in some athletic type gear.

"Edward took Bella to Florida to see her mother, but also get her out of town. Victoria came back and we're going to try and catch her." Alice explained briefly.

Eleanor told them to not be stupid and be safe, and she was going to stay with the baby. Eleanor and Luca were ecstatic that her blood didn't affect them. Carlisle suspected it was due to being related by blood, but they couldn't know for sure. They're just happy they didn't see their daughter and drain every ounce of blood within her tiny body.

Emily had been put to sleep. And Eleanor was basking in the silence and how easy it was to get Emily to sleep tonight, but the peace was very short-lived.

Eleanor heard a commotion from the woods and could pick up her family bickering. She sped to the edge of the forest and waited a couple of seconds for them. They came to a halt in front when they saw her. "Go in that house and wake her up, because of some silly bickering, you'll find yourself without a tongue." Eleanor threatened, she really didn't want to deal with a crying baby right now.

"Emmett nearly got himself ripped apart by wolves!" Alice whisper-shouted, Eleanor rose an eyebrow at her elder sister to elaborate. "We were chasing Victoria, and this dimwit jumped across the treaty to get her, and the wolves went for him instead of Victoria. He nearly broke the treaty!" She ratted him out.

Eleanor rolled her eyes at Emmett and smacked him across the head, not at full force. Forgetting her newborn strength, she caused some cracking down his face and part of his neck. Without saying or doing anything else, she turned and walked back into the house.

She felt exhausted and wrestlers even for a vampire. A newborn baby was no joke, but she was glad she wasn't doing this as a human, because she would need sleep. Something the baby would be against her having.

A couple of hours passed, and Edward seemed to arrive home. "You're awake! Is the baby here?" Edward smiled at the sight of his youngest sibling.

"Yes, she's asleep, so shut it." She snapped back. She still wasn't the biggest fan of Edward and his human puppy. Along with a newborn baby, whose cries did not go appreciated by the newborn vampires and their sensitive ears. "What are you doing here anyway? Thought you were busy in Arizona risking our exposure?" Eleanor quipped.

"We've come home. She's resting at home, but she'll be over tomorrow." Edward replied.

"Yeah, I don't care where she is." Eleanor left to go hunt. Was it really a smart idea to bring a human to a house with newborns? Not really, and she didn't understand what went through Edwards mind.
