Fish in a puddle

Ran stood in the center of the classroom, sat on his seat, his head resting.

surrounded by his classmates. His gaze met mine, and I could see a mix of concern and confusion in his eyes "oh y/n? What are you doing here?" He questioned as his classmates moved out of the way for you.

You noticed something, rindou stayed quiet in class, ran however, was the opposite.

"Do you want to spend some time with me? How cute" ran said in a flirty manner, a blush coating his cheeks.

Without a second thought, I blurted out the urgent message. "No! Rindous having a fight"

As the words hung in the air, the classroom fell silent. Ran, steady and composed, nodded in understanding "a fight?" His eyebrows furrowed.

"Oh you're worried about HIM then" ran said as he gave you the side eye.

"He can take care of himself he's fine" ran whispered as he moved his face into his sleeves, hiding his jealous expression.

"Can you please help him? Please ran!" You begged as he lifted his face up, starting at you.

"You're the first person I came to" you said, breath shaky.

"Oh" ran mused as a blush coated his cheeks.

"No wonder you didn't go to izana or Kakucho" ran smiled as he stood up.

"Of course you came to me! I'm strong, watch how strong I am" ran said, Without uttering another word, he sprinted past you, his footsteps echoing through the hallway.

The seconds felt like an eternity as I stood outside the classroom, my heart pounding in my ears. The hallway became a theater of whispers, as students speculated on the outcome of the impending clash.
Minutes later, Ran returned, a calm confidence emanating from his every step.

He motioned for me to follow him, and together we made our way back to the classroom. The door creaked open, revealing a sight that left me awestruck.

Curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to strike up a conversation.

"What are you looking at?" I questioned as Kakucho looked at me, "fish" he pointed towards the puddle.

"Honestly that's really weird" I said as I stared at the orange fish.

"Oh, you have a fish keychain" he smiled as you nodded.

"I like them" you giggled as he smiled "That's very cute"

"Oh thank you" you blushed.

"Why not look after it?" Kakucho questioned.

"Oh I could never, mum is not ever home, and she barely restocks the food, so never mind me not being able to feed myself i could not even feed it" you said as you pushed the thought away.

"You can't feed yourself?"

You looked up towards Kakucho as he stared at you in shock.

"Oh no, no I ..um" you moved your hands in-front of you trying to come up with an idea, an excuse.

"I um, joke, I'm joking" you laughed it off.

"Are you sure" Kakucho question, his face worried as he stared at you.

"Maybe I'll see if izana wants it?" Kakucho questioned as he looked at the fish.

"Yeah he likes fish"

"Does he have any pet fish?" You questioned as he nodded, "yeah a few" Kakucho smiled.

"Are you sure you are eating properly" Kakucho asked, examining your arms, his eyes grew wide as the paleness, how skinny you was, how hadn't he noticed before? He was an idiot.

"Rindou had a fight today in class, so I got ran to help" I blurted out without thinking.

For some reason, kakucho was very easy to speak to.

You felt like the others would judge you, but Kakucho just, his atmosphere gave off a kind aura.

"So, Ran helped?" He asked, referring to Rindou's recent fight, To his surprise, i nodded and replied, "Yes, and he did it so fast. I never knew he could fight."

"Yes he fights a lot" he smiled.

Amazement laced my voice as i responded, "Really? Ran, That's hard to believe."

Kakucho chuckled and said, "Well, you see, Ran, Rindou, Shion, Izana, and I are all part of a gang remember?"

My eyes widened as I processed the information.

That's right, kakucho had already told you that!

They were in a gang.

The thought that your fellow club members were involved in a gang was unsettling.

It meant they were no strangers to fights and dangerous situations.

Sensing my unease, Kakucho reassured me with a smile. "Don't worry, I can see it on your face. We may be in a gang, but we know how to take care of ourselves."
