Alone with a Secret Curse (Based of My babysitters a vampire)

Work

Letting out a big sigh of a morning is a usual for me. You see because I live by myself I do have to get any job I can, so in the day I work as a waitress for a little cafe called Lotta Latte, it's basically just a place for coffee and not much else, but in the evening I try and see if there is any other jobs I can try out for as I really need the money.
Getting out of a bed can be hard, but with a shower it always wakes me up. My little apartment can be pretty shit, but my shower is a walk in one and it's massive and can actually get really hot water that steams up my entire bathroom. It may sound strange that a shower is my favourite part of my home, but oh well you've got to appreciate something right?

The cafe is really close to my apartment, so it's not a big walk for me which means I can get more sleep.
"Hey Sarah" my manager David says as I walk in
"Hello David" I say back to him
"So you going to talk much to us today?"
"Maybe? Maybe not?"
David rolls his eyes at me and laughs. Him and a few other employees always make jokes about how I don't really talk to them or how I don't tell them about myself, but like I said before, I'm not one for making friends...

It's getting quiet now breakfast is over, so I'm going to start cleaning the tablets to get ready for the lunchtime squad that always comes in super busy.
"You are a liar! You didn't know that Darth Vader was Luke's father until he said it in the film" some kid says behind me
"Yes I did! I'm just too good Rory" another voice says.
"Guys can be maybe have this conversation at home, in a girl free place" another voice says

Wait! I sort of recognise two out of three of them voices. I quickly turn around and see it's that Benny and Ethan from yesterday's walk and some short blonde guy with them. I quickly turn back around and wipe the tables as I don't want them to think I'm looking at them again and come across creepy or something.

"Hey can we get two mochas no foam and a regular latte thanks" that Benny guy says to Julia on the counter.
"Yeah of course. Take a seat and we will bring it right over to you" Julia says to them with her big stupid fake smile. I don't particularly like her, if you couldn't tell, she is fake and puts on such an act and she obviously has a crush on David and always tries to flirt with him to get a pay rise...
"Sarah." Julia calls me over
"Yeah?" I say back
"Do you mind giving them boys their coffees?" Julia gives me the train and points towards that Benny, Ethan and some other guy who I believe is called Rory, I sort of heard their conversation and I think that's what they called him.
I head over to their table and they are talking about superhero's and who has the best costume... Urg nerds!
"Right guys I've got two mochas no foam and a regular latte" I say cutting off their conversation
"Mochas are ours" Benny says pointing to him and that Rory
"Umm... Mine is the latte thanks" Ethan says
I place all of their drinks next to them and give them a nice smile and walk away.

It's so quiet right now, so it gets really boring. Julia has gone out the back flirting with David, so I'm all alone on the counter bored as hell leaning on the till. Nobody else is in here apart from them three guys... I quickly pull out my phone from the pocket to check the time and it's only 11:54am
"Excusing me" a voice says. I quickly look up and see it's Ethan, I love how I'm calling him Ethan even though I'm only 99% sure that's his name, never spoken to him and he doesn't know me.
"Yes?" I respond
"I was wondering if I could just get some water"
"Yeah course. Do you want some ice in it?"
"Yeah please"
I hand him the glass of water, he grabs it as well and our hands touch. I pull away and give an awkward smile to him, but he looks amazed... It's probably because he has never touch a girl before and it's fascinating to him.
"There you go" I say to him as a way to break this awkward silence
"Umm... yeah... umm... Thanks" he says as he goes back to his friends. Something is definitely odd about him, he is kind of cute in a enduring way.
"SARAH!" David shouts snapping me out of my daydream
"Yeah" I respond standing up right.
"I need to you to sort out the trash out in the back"
"Really David? I've done it for the past week. Get Julia to do it"
"I've asked you Sarah"
I can see behind him Julia is giggling to herself. God flirting with your boss has it's perks...

I head outside the cafe to the back of the shop where there are all the massive trash bins filled with all kind of gross stuff.
"Hey baby" a man's voice shouts to me. I just ignore it and carry on
"Hey baby!" The man says louder this time and coming towards me. I still ignore it.
"Hey I'm talking to you hotness" this man says whilst getting right up to me.
"Can I help you?" I say to him sassily
"I don't know maybe you can?" The man says as he grabs my hand
"Leave me alone" I snap as I pull him off me
"Oh don't be like that baby. Give me something"
I just ignore him again and try to walk away from him, but he grabs my waist.
"FINE I WILL GIVE YOU SOMETHING" I shout and then I kick him so hard he goes flying, sometimes I forget how strong I am now I'm a fledging. Sorry not sorry man.
"What the hell?" I hear that Ethan's voice say. I look around and I can see him standing a few feet away, oh no he saw all of that and I don't know what to tell him? Nobody knows I'm a vampire, apart from my crummy ex boyfriend who turned me into one.
"What just happened?" He asks me
"Well... umm.. he was trying to attack me and he grabbed my waist so I fought back" I quickly say back.
"Right... but the way you kicked him... what was that? That was some crazy strength"
"Yeah well I have a good fitness routine and you know in the moment you... you get... ummmm an adrenaline rush. Right?"
"That was insane though."
"It wasn't at all! It was normal"
"That was NOT normal. You kicked him so hard he literally flew away. I don't even know where he properly went"
What the hell do I do? Should I just walk away from him or just say bye and go back inside?

"Ouch!" The man I kicked voice says as he stands up into some trash bags "YOU!" He shouts pointing at me. Oh dear...
"I think you should go now" I say to Ethan who looks absolutely terrified.
"How could you of kicked me like that? I just wanted to get your number baby" the man says limping closer towards me
"I will happily do it again if you come anywhere near me!" I snap at him
"I like a girl full of fire like you though" he laughs
"Well I don't like ugly jerks, so we aren't a match" I laugh back at him
"Leave her alone!" Ethan just randomly pipes up
"I told you to leave" I whisper to him
"And who might you be nerd?" The man asks Ethan
"I'm not going to let you hurt her" Ethan says trying to stand strong, but when you have a slim body like his, it's not going to really work.
The man starts heading towards Ethan, but very fast and aggressive and I can't just watch this man hurt him when I know I can take him so I quickly run over in front of Ethan putting my arms around him to ensure he stays behind me.
"How the hell did you get here so fast?" Ethan whispers to me. I ignore him and see this evil man looking at me in shock as well.
"How did you get there in the blink of an eye?" The man asks still walking towards Ethan and I.
"I'm just obviously magical" I say to him with a wink
"Sweetie I don't want to hurt you, so step out the way so I can teach this nerd a lesson"
"You put one finger on him and I will hurt you"
The man goes to grab Ethan from behind me so I quickly grab his arm and pull him away. It's nice and easy when you have super human strength. "ETHAN LEAVE!" I shout at him.
Ethan just runs away and I kick the man again and run inside the cafe.
