Suprising friends

After some weeks I had adjusted to the situation.
Pansy, Astoria, Daphne and me were like inseparable.

I got really good along with Mattheo actually.
But out of all Enzo just was my best friend.

Astoria, Pans, Enzo, Mattheo, Draco and me were in the common room just chilling.
Mattheo was in a full on monologue rant about his older brother Tom.

He talked and talked and talked.
I could see that everyone was bloody pissed.

„Come on Matty. He isn't that bad. Yes he's mean and grumpy but he's not like the worst person on earth"

I interrupted him rolling my eyes.
It followed dead silence.
Everyone was just looking at me.

„Wait a minute. How do YOU know Tom?"

Mattheo bursted out.

„Ehm. We study together. Did I never mention this?"

I said confused.
When I thought about it it was true I had never mentioned it.

„You what?"

Draco almost screamed.

„Bloody hell where's the problem? He's the best in his year and I'm the best in ours. We study a lot."

„Yeah but it's Tom! He hates everyone. He hates studying with someone"

„bullshit. We study every two weeks. And he don't hate everyone. He dislikes a lot of people but hate is a bit much"

I was thinking for a moment if we meant the same Tom but there was no doubt.

„I can't believe that"

Mattheo shook his head.

„You better do brother!"

The voice behind me wasn't very loud but sharp as always.
We all turned around and looked at Tom.
With his usual cold look he inspected us.

„She talks a bit much but she's smart. A quick learner. You all could learn from her. Don't you dare ruin her!"

He hissed.

„I don't talk so much"

I pouted.

„That's all? He literally made you a compliment! What the hell! Who are you and where is my brother?"

Mattheo looked clearly shocked.
Just like everyone else.

„If I see that you have a bad influence on her you all are in trouble"

he spat out and turned to go.

„You're not my fucking brother Tom"

I rolled my eyes.

„Watch your language, doll"

he replied and was gone.
I huffed and looked back at the others.

„Impressive. Everyone else who talked to him like that is dead"

Draco said laughing.

„Damn girl you have an impact on guys that's impressive. Teach me"

Pansy grinned and leaned over to me to hug me.

„Oh talking about learning. Is the offer still there to help me with potions Sunny?"

Astoria asked sweet.

„Sure thing."

„Oh me too"

Mattheo bursted out.
