You're Safe Now- Rhaenyra

I quickly made my way through the burning shores of the Crabfeeder. His defeat had been years ago, but all the wreckage was still here. I looked over my shoulder at Syrax, praying to the old and new gods that she wouldn't make a scene until I had Rhaenyra in my arms. I pressed my body to a half collapsed pillar and surveyed my surroundings.

This was by far the worst decision I had made, not to save Rhaenyra, but to not have a plan. I was going in blind, my only weapon a small Valyrian dagger my mother had gifted me and I had seen no one. Word of his base had leaked to me and I had left the second I had heard it. Love does make you do crazy things, I guess.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw something move. I whipped my head in the direction, and I saw him. He had six men in either side of him and as I scanned the mountain side I saw twenty archers.

"Where is she?" I had stepped out from behind the pillar, gripping my dagger.

"Give us the knife, then you can have her."

"I need to see her." For all I knew, they could be bargaining with words alone. One of his men disappeared into a cave, and reappeared dragging Rhae. I stared at her, and then glaring at him.

"You said she was unharmed."

"She is unharmed." I looked down at the dagger in my hand, then threw it at his feet. He picked it up and then nodded to his men. Rhae was pushed forward. She started running towards me. I didn't dare move. I knew what he ordered his men to do if I moved. Rhaenyra ran straight into my arms, my hands wrapped around her shoulders. Her hands wrapped around my torso, her grip tight around me.

"I've got you, love. You're safe now." Our foreheads touched. She pressed her lips against mine softly.

"I'm no longer scared of you." I beamed as her confession reached my ears. I kissed her again, bringing my hands from her shoulders to her face.

"We should leave." She gripped my hand as we walked away, neither of us looking back.

A/N:
Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while. I've literally had no inspiration and I've been swamped with schoolwork. I'll try to post a chapter a month in all my books. Once winter break starts I'll post a lot more than one. :)
