|KABIR|
~Present~I gazed at Ira through the glass as she laughed and tapped one of her student's noses. The girl laughed and tried to imitate Ira's pose. Ira patiently helped her with the correct posture and then went to stand in front of the class. She proceeded to impart a few additional steps before inviting each student to showcase the day's lessons by coming to the front of the class.
This was something that she always did to boost the child's confidence. I have been coming continuously for two weeks to drop and pick up Diya from her dance classes. Every day I got to see a new side of Ira. She was more beautiful and kind if that was even possible. The way she always patiently listened to her students, the way she made them comfortable and boosted their confidence. The stern voice that she used if the kids were being naughty made me fall for her all over again.
I sighed and folded my arms across my chest. I frowned when Varun greeted me with a smile and entered the class. Ira grinned at him. I didn't like that one bit! I wanted to punch him and shout that all her smiles were only for me. He showed her something on the tab and the two of them laughed. It looked like she was giving her input and he listened to her carefully.
I sighed and turned the other way. I'm such a hypocrite. I'm the one who told her to find someone else and be happy but now I can't even accept that she has a boyfriend. I frown and glance at the pair. They appeared more like friends rather than two people who were in a romantic relationship. I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Diya's voice.
"Hey, Kabir Uncle! It was so much fun today! I had such a good time. I did not get a few steps but Ira ma'am taught me so well." I chuckled and ruffled her hair.
"I am glad you are enjoying her classes, Diya! Go grab your bag and shoes, let's go!" Diya grinned widely and strutted towards the shelf where her shoes and bag were kept. I grabbed the bag from Diya when she walked towards me. I helped her remove the stole wrapped around her and folded it before placing it in the bag. I slung the bag over my shoulder and stood up. I smiled as I found Diya chatting with one of her friends.
"Hi." A woman around my age greeted me. She was wearing a professional suit and had short hair.
"Hello," I replied smiling at her politely.
"I am Sanvi, I see you picking up your daughter every day. Diya is such a sweet girl. She gets along well with my niece Pooja so well. Look even now the two of them are conversing. " I smiled and nodded.
"Yes, she is truly the best person I know and Diya is not my daughter she is my niece." Sanvi grinned wider for some reason and nodded.
"Oh, my bad! I assumed that since you picked and dropped her off every day she was your daughter. Besides the bond between you two reflected as such. No offense I was only complimenting." I laughed and shook my head at her nervous reply.
"No problem at all, Sanvi. By the way, I'm Kabir," I said as I extended my hand for a handshake. She smiled and shook my hand.
"Nice to meet you, Kabir." I smiled, she genuinely seemed sweet. We conversed generally for a couple of minutes while the girls were busy giggling and talking about something in the corner.
"Excuse me!" I turned to find that Ira had interrupted us. She looked angry, her hair was in a messy bun and she had the stole still wrapped around her. She glared at Sanvi who was now scrolling through her phone.
