It's been almost a month since Kabir was injured. His injuries were almost healed now. They were merely scabs they left a light scar behind. Kabir did not have a problem instead he bore them proudly. His dedication was commendable. Over the past month, I hadn't met up with him that much. He was busy with work and my classes got intense as well. We barely had the time to have a proper conversation.

Kabir's parents wanted to come see him but he didn't want them to travel as the two of them had fallen sick. He introduced me to his parents over the video call. I was surprised but his mother was happy to meet me just like Mumma was happy to meet Kabir, she told me some embarrassing stories about Kabir and we shared a good laugh. Although it was a video call it was nice to meet them.

Another exciting thing that took place over the month was Veer Bhai's proposal. Meera Di and Veer Bhai were finally getting married. I couldn't be more happier.

The proposal was romantic and completely out of the world. It was magical. Everything was set to perfection. They were getting married in a few days. Will Kabir and I ever have that? I shook my head and switched on the music player.

I twirled around the room as I felt the music pulsate through my body. The lyrics touched my heart. I lifted my hands up in the air and swayed my hips. My eyes watered as I felt it touch my soul. The song was about a woman longing for her lover's touch who she lost in an accident.

I couldn't stop the tears from falling down my cheeks. I remembered Kabir's face. What if something happens to him? No nothing will happen to him. What am I even thinking?

Ever since he got injured, I think something has changed. I get paranoid at times and my thoughts get the worst of me. Mumma told me she felt the same way when she initially started dating Papa. She said that with time I'll know how to handle it but I can't seem to shake off that something was about to change.

No nothing is going to happen. Kabir is strong! He'll manage everything and so will I.

I wiped the tears and switched off the music system when I heard a knock on the door. I glanced at the mirror and sniffled again. I wiped my tears, ensuring my eyeliner and kajal weren't smeared all over my face.

I opened my eyes to find Mumma's gleaming face. "There's a surprise for you! Come on!" I raised my brows.

"Is this a prank again? Where you and Papa give me another box and something comes out of it?" Mumma rolled her eyes and dragged me out of the room.

"Iru! That was one time! And it was April Fool's Day! Besides it was your Papa's fault he convinced me to do it! Not my fault. You know I would never do that." She reasoned, I chuckled and followed her down the stairs.

I let out a surprised laugh when I found Kabir scratching the back of his neck and Papa glaring at him with his arms folded across his chest. Poor Kabir gulped and shifted his weight from one leg to another. My father's gaze was enough to make him jittery.

"Your Papa is so annoying. I asked him to take care of Kabir and give him some juice but he was giving me those intimidating looks. I'll fix this right now." I giggled and shook my head.

"Neel! What are you doing?" Mumma shouted. Papa's eyes widened. He cleared his throat and smiled charmingly at my mother.

"I was about to ask him to take a seat Indu but by then you girls arrived." Mumma raised her brows. Papa laughed nervously and turned back to Kabir.
