Keeping a secret and new dynamic

It had been a few days since Team Prime settled into the new base while trying to figure out how to make the new dynamics work. "Nightshard have you seen how Ultra Magnus has been acting?" Smokescreen asked his sister.  Shay looked at her brother before remembering the subtle changes that Ultra Magnus had. "What's going on?" Nightshard asked wanting to know what was going on. Smokescreen told her that Ultra Magnus had been getting on everyone's nerves. "I know that you don't want to get in the middle of situations like this can you talk to him," Smokescreen said before walking away. "I'll try but no promises," Night said to her brother. Smokescreen went off on a scouting mission to find Energon after talking to his sister.

After Smokescreen left, Nightshard went over to Ultra Magnus to talk to him and she found him working on a computer. Ultra Magnus looked around, watching the team, knowing he hadn't found a way to connect to them. It didn't take long for him to spot his close friend next to him waiting for him to notice her. "What do want Captain?" Ultra Magnus asked lacing his last word while trying to calm down from getting scared from his friend. Nightshard laughed at her best friend before stopping to look at him which Magnus knew. "You are driving almost everyone insane because you are being too strict," Night said after dropping her fun nature. "I'm not being too strict am I?" Magnus asked. Nightshard gave him a look that he took as a yes. "I'll work on it but there was else going on and I don't know what to do with it," Magnus asked knowing that he was about to admit his secret. He gave himself some time to think over his choice to make sure that it was the right choice. Ultra Magnus told her that he felt a pull to a bot but he didn't know who it was. Nightshard told him that he was feeling a spark bond and she reminded him that she had a spark pull with Hot Rod who turned out to be her true spark mate.   

"Are you going to help with it?" Magnus asked. "Nope, that's your problem with your love life because I already dealt with mine plus I also have to deal with you and Wheeljack already," Night said with a smile. Ultra Magnus knew that she was right about how he had to deal with his love life but gave her a look when she said that she had to deal with him and Wheeljack. "I'll try to work with him but I make no promise on being friends with Wheeljack," Magnus said before giving his hand to his childhood friend. Nightshard gave the commander a look before taking his hand knowing that she would hold him to his word. "I'm going to hold you to your word and you know that," she said. "I might have feelings for Wheeljack and I don't know how to deal with it," Magnus whispered, catching Nightshard off-guard. Nightshard looked at him shocked because he had just admitted that he had feelings for her older cousin. "You have feelings for my cousin?!" she whispered at him with wide optics. Ultra Magnus looked at the rest of the team trying to see if anyone heard her knowing if anyone found out it would change how they would see him.

"Yes what do I do with those feelings and wait Wheeljack is your cousin?" Magnus whispered back asking his question. "Yes he is and that is not the point at the moment. My advice at the moment is to keep your feelings to yourself to be safe so when the time is right tell him," Night said knowing that was the best course of action. Ultra Magnus took that advice knowing that considering that both he and Wheeljack didn't have the best relationship considering that he took command of the Wreckers and Wheeljack was one of the most reckless bots he knew. He felt the pull again and Magnus pulled at the pull himself before turning around to see that it led him right in Wheeljack's direction who was with Bulkhead and Kup near the hanger's door.  Nightshard looked at Magnus before following his gaze that landed right at the rest of the Wreckers and she figured out who her friend's sparkmate but she didn't say anything. 

Optimus had always trusted Nightshard to keep the team running when he was busy or injured in any way. While he had trained Ultra Magnus as a leader, he had gained that same trust and faith in the commander more so when he and Nightshard started to work together regarding strategies in the long run. This is something that Nightshard saw the trust that her uncle placed in the two friends who had an unspoken bond in terms of how they fought and trained that they shared with Prowl. The trio had that bond born out of the willingness to be better and to be better fighters in the long run. When the war started, the older bots that knew Ultra Magnus, Nightshard, and Prowl had always anticipated each other's movements which was odd but it was built on how they built their friendship.  

The team started to find a way to create a new dynamic by bringing back old friendships while creating new ones. "Did you see the look that Ultra Magnus had on his face when he looked over where Wheeljack was at," Ironhide said when walked up to his niece as she worked on her energy ability. "You saw it as well didn't you," Nightshard said with a smile on her face that Ironhide knew well. Bulkhead and Smokescreen came up to the niece and uncle wanting to know what they were talking about. Smokescreen recognized the smile that was on his sister's face so he got the idea what his sister and uncle were talking about. "So are guys talking about making a bet on a pairing's love lives?" Smokescreen asked. Bulkhead looked at Smokescreen before looking at Ironhide and Nightshard. and agreed with Smokescreen. "It's a bet on Wheeljack and Ultra Magnus," Ironhide said which shocked Smokescreen and Bulkhead. Smokescreen and Nightshard were on one side while Ironhide and Bulkhead were on the other so they made the bet that Wheeljack and Ultra Magnus would get together naturally or would they remain as they are.
