It's been several years since Diesal and Lightwind had died and the trio had grown up within the city of Iacon. Along the way, they had been told about their Seeker heritage and were taught Vosian, a specific dialect of Cybertronian used in Vos, along with the fact that body language is something that throws them off. At school, the trio had let each other have their friend groups so they wouldn't be dependent on each other as they got older but that didn't mean that they didn't spend time with each other. Smokescreen had joined a group of speedsters and the school's speed team who compete against other schools in the city. Bumblebee had joined the school's ROTC program and had selected the specialty of scout which was questioned by Nightshard because of his color scheme. Nightshard on the other hand had made two friends in Ultra Magnus and Prowl.

All three of them had chosen their walk of life at that moment in time even if they didn't know it at the time. The path that Smokescreen had chosen to walk slowly gave him an energetic personality and a mindset that was set to gotta go fast. Bumblebee's path had him set to become a scout which was something he wanted to do since he was a sparkling despite his color scheme. Nightshard on the other hand wants to give back to her community and save lives which resulted in her choosing to become a Rescue Bot. A choice that her friends understood while Ultra Magnus chose to be an Elite Guardsman and Prowl as an Enforcer. When she told her family though it did shock them but they knew that this was her choice which gave her a solid connection to her sire. Both Smokescreen and Bumblebee also found ways to find a connection with their creators as well. "You honestly chose to go to the Rescue Academy after we graduate school," Smokescreen said looking at his sister as they walked home. "I want to save lives like Uncle Ratchet but I don't want to become a medic and this is my way of doing it," Nightshard said back. Smokescreen knew that his sister wanted to do more with her life and her being the only one of them to look like a groundflyer than him or Bumblebee was something that made her stand out.

"I think Night and I are the only ones that chose to do something that involves years of training and almost constant missions but we don't see you choosing something in the same vain Smoky," Bumblebee pointed out to his older brother. Nightshard knew that threw her oldest brother for a loop but at the same time, she also knew that this was something that she wanted to know as well. "I have to figure out what I want and I think right now I am on the right path to figuring that out," Smokescreen said. Bumblebee and Nightshard knew that that was right because despite being the oldest he doesn't know who he is. Bumblebee and Nightshard knew who they were along with the fact that they also know that are often stronger together growing up. "Sometimes we have to take small steps to figure out our place but once we find it we won't let it go," Nightshard said before walking ahead of her brothers who looked at her with awe before realizing that she was leaving them behind.

After two more years, the trine along with their friends had graduated from school and now they are all waiting for letters of acceptance to all the places that they applied to. When the siblings had gotten their letters, they were home relaxing after finishing school. "Your letters are here and I hope that one of you has some sense to stay home," Ratchet said giving the trio their letters. Each of them looked at the letter in their hands and both Smokescreen and Bumblebee opened theirs. Inside was an acceptance letter for the ROTC program from their school as an instructor for Bumblebee and an invitation to the major racing league on Velocitron. "Why haven't you opened yours, sis?" Bee asked his sister. Nightshard just looked at the unopened envelope before handing it over to Smokescreen to open. Smokescreen took the envelope out of his sister's servo and opened it when he did he had a smile on his faceplate. "You got into the Academy," Smokescreen said which resulted in Nightshard grabbing the letter.

Nightshard read over the letter not believing her brother that she had gotten into the Rescue Academy. "Am going to the academy. I thought I wasn't going to get in," Nightshard said before getting dogpiled by her brothers. Ratchet smiled at the trio more so Nightshard because she showed that she had the confidence to apply for the Rescue Academy but knew that there wasn't a chance that she wouldn't get in.
