"That black knight is dead..." I stand with Navei. "So how can he be standing like this now?"

"If my memory serves it right, he must be cursed with the dark magic." Navei begins to answer my question. "He was fighting against some demonic mage or so. However, he wasn't lucky no matter if he was the strongest. He was struck in a low-blow method. Some magic that bastard used to sting against the weakness the knight never knew. A victim like the person we see now is an enemy and in terms of how long he was living like this, I am afraid that he cannot be saved at this rate."

"You've got to be joking! Are you saying that we have to kill this guy!?" Phoebe exclaims after she starts to understand.

"Don't we have something to do such as purifying him?!" Emily asks.

"I am afraid it will be impossible, Emily." Navei declines the challenge that Emily asks to save him. "For how we tend to be legends from the decades, that is for us to prove ourselves worthy to this generation."

"What are you planning to do?" I ask with a caution. I see her as a rival. She doesn't trust me as a friend regarding a tournament. So what does she want with me after all this time?

"Like how the people requested since the victims did not make it." Navei starts to reply. "We will defeat the Black Knight and let my sword be why he must rest in peace." She clarifies why she wants our help to cover her from the surroundings when it comes to the labyrinth.

"I guess there's no choice since there is nothing to do for the night." I agree with her.

"Y/n, are you serious!?" F/n questions me with shock.

"After all, we are here as a part of the quest and the option of taking him down dead or alive is all about finding the right choice for ourselves," I said.

"It's never that nice to have that guy dead because he was turned!" F/n complains.

"You never care, do you?" Shizure makes a displeasing projection, telling me that I am nothing but a cold-hearted adventurer who doesn't like saving the already-turned people.

"But there should have been a way with my power. I don't think that killing him would achieve anything at this rate!" Emily argues with us.

"There is no rest for those who are twisted or already lost, then to be turned into the corrupted where it cannot be turned back." Navei turns down the concerns that slow us down. "We will use all our strength to defeat the Black Knight without holding back due to how it goes. So know that this will be the best for us now."

"I can't believe this. Y/n, what do you think?" Shizure asks me. In my mind, there is nothing to prove how we could save the knight in this state. It was decades ago before he was turned.

"I will have to agree with Navei. After all, we weren't here at that time when he was still alive." I give my answer to them. "Just like Navei said, we'll have to fight to defeat him. And have him rest in peace for everyone in this decade!"
