The moon hung high in the night sky as I traversed the rooftops of a bustling city, embracing the solitude of my nightly parkour run. The rhythmic sound of my footsteps echoed against the concrete, a dance with the shadows beneath the starry canvas.
Mid-stride, my pocket buzzed, disrupting the symphony of the night. Annoyed, I pulled out my phone, half-expecting Seth's name to illuminate the screen. The guy had a knack for choosing the most inconvenient moments to call.
"Ugh, what do you want, Seth?" I muttered, answering the call with a hint of irritation.
To my surprise, Seth's voice held a tone of urgency. "Sangue, you gotta listen. I saw something weird. Green smoke, people wearing rat-like gas masks. Something's going down."
I rolled my eyes, dismissing his concern. "Oh great, Seth, real riveting. Are you calling just to tell me about your vivid imagination?"
"No, no, seriously," Seth insisted. "I used the Binoc-u-com to contact Bentley and Penelope. They're checking it out, but I thought you should know too. It might be something big."
My annoyance shifted to genuine concern. "Wait, you used the Binoc-u-com? How'd you even figure that out?"
Seth chuckled, a hint of pride in his voice. "I'm not just a pretty face, Sangue. I can handle some tech stuff too."
I sighed, begrudgingly acknowledging his point. "Fine, fine. I'll keep an eye out. Just don't go doing anything reckless, alright?"
"Got it, Sangue. I'll leave the heroics to you and the gang," he teased.
Ending the call, I continued my parkour run, the cityscape now infused with a sense of heightened awareness. Seth's message lingered in the back of my mind, a subtle reminder that even in the tranquility of the night, danger could lurk in the shadows.
As I leaped across rooftops, my thoughts drifted to Bentley and Penelope investigating the mysterious green smoke. The night held secrets, and with each stride, I embraced the uncertainty, ready to face whatever challenges awaited me in the moonlit tapestry of intrigue.
