ENOLA USED TO BE A HOPELESS ROMANTIC. She is still a hopeless romantic. She used to believe that love was the highest value. She still believes that love is the highest value. She doesn't expect to be happy. She didn't think of love as the answer or the solution. She thinks of it as a force of nature—as strong as the sun, as necessary, as impersonal, as gigantic, as impossible, as scorching as it is warming, as drought-making, as it is life-giving. And when it burns out, the planet dies.

Enola harbored a soft smile, entering the kitchen with Hope. She bounced her daughter on her hip as her eyes flickered between Elijah and Hayley. She could immediately spot the tension as she bounced her daughter on her hip. She couldn't help but smirk in a teasing manner. Beside the ever present smell of pancakes, the heavy scent of sex still lingered in the air. She shook her head with a soft chuckle as she took a seat at the table. She had been so focused on her daughter and her upcoming wedding that she wasn't there to greet Hayley with Elijah last night. Not that her friend seemed to mind.

"I see you two didn't waste any time," Enola noted. "From coffee table to bookcase to kitchen floor—I'm surprised you guys have the energy to cook breakfast this lovely morning."

Hayley and Elijah froze, eyeing Enola in horror. They didn't think they were that loud. They were certain she was asleep. Which only made their late night escapades possible because she was a heavy sleeper. What they didn't know is that she hadn't slept that night. Now that she had her daughter in her arms, she doubted that sleep would come for her any time soon.

"You—You heard?" Hayley stuttered.

"Heard?" Enola echoed in amusement. "Honey, I can quite literally smell the sex in the air."

"Come, now, Enola." Elijah warned, eyeing Hope with wide eyes. "There is a child present."

"That didn't seem to be a problem last night, when you two went at it in the open." Enola teased, causing both Hayley and Elijah to look away in embarrassment. She was just glad that their relationship was finally progressing. She was getting tired of watching them pine after one another from a distance. It was one of the reasons she was ready to unite the wolves. So they could have their happily ever after. But before she could think of it further, the sound of a car engine caught her attention. "They're here."

There was no need to elaborate further. Klaus and Rebekah had arrived back to New Orleans to news that Esther planned on using Cami as a potential body jump victim. They had dealt with Esther in a rather brutal way. They had laced her wine with vampire blood and killed her. Now she had to choose between dying and becoming the one thing she hates the most. However, their victory was short-lived when Vincent—or Finn—disappeared from their captivity.
