After reuniting with Alec, Clary then led their group to Lilith's apartment that she moved to Alicante. Alec had told them all how Jonathan had spouted black wings after he'd been free of his bond with Clary. He'd summoned the Morning Star sword before saying that the Clave couldn't keep hunting him if they were already dead. And if Lilith's apartment could breach the wards at the Institute, then Jonathan definitely had enough power to breach the wards of Alicante, and with the Morning Star sword - he would have an army of demons to do the dirty work for him.

Serena was now sitting with Izzy in one of the bedrooms as she gently pulled the shrapnel from her back before Alec came in to check on them. He'd been so lucky that Jonathan didn't kill him when he'd escaped as he was more powerful than ever.

"How you feeling, Iz?" he asked as he bent down by her face, the girl lying on her stomach on the bed in a sports bra as her sister treated her.

"Better," she said as Serena pulled out the last piece of shrapnel and handed Izzy a stele to activate her iratze.

"And you?" he asked to his wife.

"Look, not even a scar," she said as she pointed to where the shrapnel had cut her cheek, the debris and wound long gone.

Alec chuckled at her before a knock on the door sounded.

"Can, uh, can I talk to Izzy for a second?" Simon asked and both Alec and Serena gave the girl a strange look before walking out of the room.

"You sure, you're ok?" Alec questioned as his wife pulled out her stele.

"I'm perfectly fine. I promise," Serena said as Alec shut the door behind them and Serena began writing a message in fire.

"What are you doing?"

"Well, if Jonathan is on his way here to summon an army of demons, I figure we need as much help as we're gonna get."

She was still writing as she felt Alec's hands snake around her waist, his palms fitting directly over her hips. "Have I ever told you how brilliant you are?" he whispered lowly as he bent down to her ear and Serena bit her lips as she finished her fire message.

"Once or twice," she mumbled as she covered his hands with hers.

"I'll say it as many times as you like," he promised as he began to trail his lips down her neck.

"Alec," she chided but her heart wasn't in it as she tilted her head to the side to give him more access. He pulled her body closer to him, her back flush with his front. "Alec - mhmm - Alec, we can't do this. Not now."

Alec grinned as he ceased his assault on her neck to spin her around to face him. "I've known you for how long?" he asked, a dazed look in Serena's eyes.

"Um, almost 15 years. Maybe more. I can't - can't really count them right now."

"Exactly," he said as he returned his lips to her neck. "Which means... I've had a long time... to learn exactly...where to touch you."

"Alec," Serena moaned.

"Come on," he mumbled against her skin. "You know Jace and Clary are probably doing the same thing in the other room. We'll just be...more efficient at getting the job done."

Serena inhaled a shaky breath before her eyes opened and she pushed Alec off her, his back hitting the wall. He had a wolfish grin on his face as his wife unzipped her jacket and let it fall to the ground. She stalked towards him as Alec eagerly lowered his lips to meet hers.

"Quick," she said between kisses. "And I mean five minutes quick."

Alec heeded her words and was quick to pick her up and reverse their positions so that she was the one pressed against the wall. His expression was feral as his wife reached for his belt buckle. "You know I only need two."
