Tessa POV

"Joey could you please stop that?" I sighed closing my Insurgent book.

"What? This?" He grinned and continued throwing the tennis ball against the wall.

"Yes, that" I replied through gritted teeth and with that I reopened my book. Just breathe Tessa, he is simply just pushing your buttons. Your precious gumdrop buttons.

Joey let out a dramatic sigh and collapsed onto his back and threw the ball into the air a few times. I let out a sigh of relief, it was better than hearing it against the wall-

That was until he decided to begin celebrating each time he caught it. "GAAAAH GO JOEY" He screamed as if he was an entire crowd. "JOEY!JOEY! JOEY!" He continued to chant whilst pumping his fist in the air. I stared at him weirdly before I reread the whole page I was on again because of Joey's annoying chanting.

"Joey is the best!!" He yelled. Great! I don't even know what I just read!

"Joey could you please keep your lips sealed? It looks better when it's closed" I said, giving him a sickly sweet smile. Joey propped onto his left arm and gave me his signature grin.

"Oh I understand"  He sang as if he finally came to realize what I was implying.

"You do?"

"Yes" He gave a contemptuous smile. "You want to kiss me, that's why you want me to close them." He puckered up his lips and started making kissey faces.

"Ew no," I denied a bit too quickly for my liking. "I am telling you to shut up!"

"But I'm bored Tessa" Joey whined childishly.

"OH No!" I gasped and put my hand dramatically to my chest before making my face go blank. "Not my problem."

Joey narrowed his eyes at me and I simply just gave him a smirk in response, then opened my book once again and rereading the page for what seemed like the 100th time now.

"What did you do?" I mumble. He is just a few feet away from me now, but not close enough to hear me. As he passes me he stretches out his hand. He wraps it around my palm and squeezes. Squeezes, then lets go. His eyes are bloodshot; he is pale. "Wh

*Smack*

I jump from the sudden object that had hit me square on the nose. I slammed the book shut-probably having to reread that page all over again- and let out a low growl. I was in my own little bubble but of course Joey has to be the prick that pops my bubble.

"Joey! What was that for?" I screamed as I threw the tennis ball back at him but he dodged it swiftly.

"You were getting a bit too nerdy, it was actually starting to make me feel uncomfortable." He replied with a casual shrug but you could see the mischievous glint in his eyes.

"You son of a biscuit!" I yelled as I leaped for him, taking him by surprised.

"This" *Smack* "Is" *smack* "my reading time!" *Smack* *smack*

"Okay okay!" Joey held his hands up in surrender, I nodded with triumph and dusted the imaginary dirt off my hands.

"But-"

Oh no here we go. There always has to be a but with him, doesn't it?

"I will leave you if you play one game with me" He stood up and ruffled his hair messily.

"No!" I protested. "I am not playing any of your stupid little games, Joey!"

"It is just rock, paper scissors Tessa" He said, chuckling at my sudden outburst.
