Michelle's POV:

Regionals was in less than a month and we still had lots of work today. Emily was busy with a lot of things so it was my job to clean the routines, but I had far too much on my mind. I wanted to take Emily on a date. It had to be perfect but everything I could think of wasn't good enough. I couldn't concentrate on the team and they were beginning to notice, West especially.

He pulls me aside to talk.

"Is everything okay?" He asks.

"Yeah, why wouldn't it be?"

"You're a little distracted, did you and Emily have a fight or something?"

"No... it's just... I wanna take her on a date. It has to be perfect and I don't know what I could do."

"Okay..." He puts his hands to his mouth like he's thinking. "I got it! I know a place... really private, romantic. It's pretty perfect. I'll take you there after rehearsal."

I smile and hug him. "Thank you so much."

"No problem Michelle."

And with that we go back to rehearsing, with my mind fully set on the routines.

(...)

When rehearsal finished West didn't even let me get changed. He grabbed my hand and dragged me, gently, to his car.

He drives me up the mountains, telling me every road sign so I can remember how to get here.

He stops the car in the middle of nowhere and tells me to get out.

I do as he says and he begins walking.

I follow him around the corner and see the cliffside, looking out onto the city.

"I know it's not much." West says, "But it's really beautiful, especially at night"

I walk closer to the edge and look across to the city.

"It's amazing West. Thank you."

"You're welcome."

I hug him tightly then he takes me home.

Once I'm back in my house I check my phone.

14 missed calls and 42 text messages

They were all from Emily.

I call her back instantly.

"Michelle where are you!?"

"Uhh... I'm in my house... why?"

"I'm still at the studio!"

Oops. I forgot I had to take her home.

"Emily I left my car at the studio. West drove me home."

"Why did West drive you home?"

"It uh- doesn't matter. I'll come get you."

"But you don't have your car."

"Doesn't matter. I'll be there in 15 minutes."

I hang up and walk to the studio.

I see Emily sitting outside on the stairs.

I sneak up on her.

She seems startled at first.

"Need a ride somewhere?" I ask.

She laughs and stands up.

"I would love a ride home actually."

I reach into my pocket to get my keys.

That's strange... they're not there.

I check my other pocket in a state of panic.

"Uhhh... I think we have to walk home. I left my keys in my house."

Emily sighs and then laughs.

"You can come to mine." I say. "My parents aren't home."

I take Emily's hand and start walking with her.

When we arrive we go straight upstairs.

I lend her a pair of my pyjamas to sleep in.

"What time will your parents be home?" She asks, while changing into my pyjamas.

"I don't think they'll be back until tomorrow."

She nods and hops into my bed, getting comfortable.

"You have a habit of making yourself at home, you know that?" I say, teasing her.

"Yeah." She says, smiling.

I climb into bed beside her, grabbing the remote control.

"What do you wanna watch?" I ask her.

"Anything." She replies.

I put on something random and held her tight.

"Wanna go on a date tomorrow night?" I blurt out.

"What?" She asks.

"A-a date. Tomorrow night. I'll pick you up?"

She looks at me and kisses me. "Of course I will."

I smile and let out a sigh if relief.

I plant a kiss on her forehead, holding her close letting her fall asleep in my arms.
