The Empress transports herself in the room. Quinn cringes at how ginormous she is.
"Racnoss? But that's impossible. You're one of the Racnoss?" asks the Doctor.
"Empress of the Racnoss," The Empress introduces herself.
Quinn watches Lance climb the ladder, then run.
"If you're the Empress, where's the rest of the Racnoss? Or, are you the only one?" asks the Doctor.
"Such a sharp mind," says the Empress.
"That's it, the last of your kind. The Racnoss come from the Dark Times, billions of years ago. Billions. They were carnivores, omnivores. They devoured whole planets," says the Doctor.
"Racnoss are born starving. Is that our fault?"
"They eat people?" Donna asks.
"HC Clements, did he wear those, those er, black and white shoes?" asks the Doctor.
"He did. We used to laugh. We used to call him the fat cat in spats," says Donna.
The Doctor points to a pair of feet sticking out of the web across the ceiling, wearing black and white shoes.
"Oh, my God!" says Donna.
"Mmm. My Christmas dinner," says the Empress.
"You shouldn't even exist. Way back in history, the fledgling Empires went to war against the Racnoss. They were wiped out," says the Doctor.
Lance is on a balcony above the Empress. He makes the shush gesture.
"Except for me," says the Empress.
"But that's what I've got inside me, that Huon energy thing. Oi! Look at me, lady, I'm talking. Where do I fit in? How come I get all stacked up with these Huon particles? Look at me, you! Look me in the eye and tell me," says Donna.
"The bride is so feisty," says the Empress.
Lance is sneaking up behind the giant Empress with a fire axs.
"Yes, I am! And I don't know what you are, you big thing, but a spider's just a spider and an ax is an ax! Now, do it!" shouts Donna.
Lance starts to swing the ax. The Empress turns and hisses at him. Lance laughs, and the Empress joins in.
"That was a good one. Your face," says Lance, making Quinn confused. She and the Doctor share looks, but she blushes and looks away. Why did her feelings for him have to come now of all places? She didn't act like this before because she didn't think about it. She was busy thinking about those Robot Santas earlier.
"Lance is funny," says the Empress.
"What?"
"I'm sorry," says the Doctor. Quinn immediately feels bad for Donna. Lance has been lying to her all these months and . . .
"Sorry for what? Lance, don't be so stupid! Get her!" yells Donna.
"God, she's thick. Months I've had to put up with her. Months. A woman who can't even point to Germany on a map," says Lance.
"I don't understand," says Donna.
The Doctor asks, "How did you meet him?"
"In the office," says Donna.
"He made you coffee," says the Doctor.
"What?" asks Donna.
"Every day, I made you coffee," says Lance. Quinn glares at him.
"You had to be dosed with liquid particles over six months," says the Doctor.
"He was poisoning me," says Donna.
