Date night under city lights

The streets of Ninjago city were even busier than normal as Christmas grew closer. Shoppers running around from store to store, looking for the perfect gifts for friends and family.

But the traffic was no problem for two elemental masters, who easily flew above them on their dragons. Now, these two were on a mission, and not just any mission... a date night mission!

That's right, for Kai Smith and Lloyd Garmadon, tonight was date night. And they intended to spend it at one of their favorite restaurants in the city. A certain noodle house owned by a certain redhead.

"Come on, come on, come on! We're going to miss our reservation!" Lloyd yells, pushing his dragon to its limits.

"Chill out Lloyd, we're not going to be late for our dinner." Kai laughs.

"You can slow down, I can hardly hear you over the wind." But even as he says it he snaps the reins of his own dragon, speeding towards his lover.

Passing him, Kai flips upside down in an arc over him, causing Lloyd to look up at him. With a cocky smile he presses a quick, chaste kiss on his forehead. Bringing a light blush onto Lloyd's cheeks.

"Last one there is a rotten egg!" Kai shouts, drawing ahead of Lloyd. Lloyd narrows his eyes with a determined look and chases after his boyfriend.

When they finally have eyes on the restaurant they're neck and neck, each fighting to get in front of the other. The ground grows closer and closer as they send their dragons into a dive. With a flash of light and a loud roar the two elemental dragons disappear as they hit the ground. When the light fades Kai and Lloyd can be seen splayed out on the ground, laughing. Kai is on his back with Lloyd laying on his belly on top of him.

"I won!" Kai shouts, fists pumping up into the air.

"No! I totally won!" Lloyd counters, poking Kai's chest with a huff.

"Uh, are you kidding me? Do you see who you're on top of? I totally landed first!" Kai points out, gesturing to himself.

Lloyd gives him a side eye and picks himself up slightly before dropping back onto Kai's belly. Kai almost folds in half with a loud oof, eyes going wide as all the air is pushed out of his lungs.

Smirking, Lloyd climbs off of him and says, "I won."

"Yeah, ok, *cough* you win." Kai says, forcing air back into his body as he sits up.

"Now come on, I'm starving." Lloyd says, grabbing Kai's hand and pulling him over to the doors of Master Chen's Noodle House.

Entering, they are greeted by a familiar red haired girl who waves and says, "Hi boys! Your usual table I presume?"

"Hey Skylor, and yeah, that would be great." Kai says, slipping an arm around his boyfriend's waist.

"If you would both kindly follow my waitress Izzy over here, she'll show you to your table." Skylor says, waving over a girl with raven black hair tucked up in a bun, and chocolate brown eyes.

"That's nice of you Skylor, but we know the way." Lloyd says, grabbing one of Kai's hands and narrowing his eyes as he notices the way Izzy is looking at Kai.

"Alright, if you say so." Skylor says, gesturing to Izzy who leaves with a slightly disappointed look on her face.

As Kai and Lloyd walk to their table they are recognized by many fans who wave and call out their names, some even going so far as to shouting their fan created ship name.

But finally they make it to their favorite table, one on the top floor of the restaurant with a view of the city. Their usual meals are already there, courtesy of Skylor, and they eagerly dig in, hungry from their exhausting flight.

Once they're done eating they settle into quiet conversation, talking about their training and recalling the highs and lows of their week. Eventually they fall silent, and opt to look out over the city, enjoying the city lights that shine brightly against the darkening sky. Enjoying their wonderful date night.
