I don't skate! Well... unless I can hold onto you

"Go Greenie!" Kai shouts, pumping his fists up in the air, cheering on his boyfriend.

He's currently standing at the side of an ice skating rink, watching as Lloyd effortlessly glides across the ice. Occasionally doing a trick or two.

Lloyd had been talking about ice skating every day since Thanksgiving. Raving about how he couldn't wait to try out new moves he'd been learning.

He had even tried to get Kai to do it with him. But Kai had declined the offer, pointing out how horrible his normal skating skills were, so his ice skating ones were probably just as bad or even worse.

So now he's here, resting his head on his arms and gazing lovingly out at his boyfriend. Admiring how the Green Ninja skates as if he is simply walking. Jumping and twirling so fast he's becoming a green blur.

Then Lloyd suddenly skates over to Kai and rests his own head next to Kai's.

"So, how's the view from over here?" Lloyd asks, cheeks slightly flushed from the cold.

"You sure are something." Kai murmurs, turning to look at Lloyd. "Skating out there like you were born with them on, it's really hot."

Lloyd's face flushes a deeper shade of red, this time not from the cold, "You could always join me." He says.

"But I don't know how to." Kai protests.

Lloyd slides closer to him. Reaching out with a hand to gently caress Kai's cheek, causing blush to appear on the fire ninja's face. Lloyd then leans down and breathes into Kai's ear, "Then let me teach you."

"O-Ok." Kai says without realizing it. But before he can change his mind Lloyd hops over the barrier with a grin and grabs his hand, dragging him over to the hut that rents out skates, still wearing his own skates!

"I need one pair of rentals for my boyfriend here." Lloyd tells the person behind the counter. "Kai, what's your shoe size?"

"Uh... 11? I think?" Kai answers, mind drawing a blank.

"Then I'll get you an 11.5. Just in case." Lloyd says.

Everything becomes a blur after that for Kai, until suddenly he finds himself standing at the edge of the rink with a pair of ice skates on. Lloyd is standing on the ice, hands outstretched to Kai.

"Come on, you've got this." Lloyd says encouragingly. Kai hesitantly places his hands in Lloyd's and cautiously takes a step onto the ice. The second he places his other foot on it he starts to slide, but Lloyd pulls him back over to him, preventing Kai from going too far.

"Easy now, I've got you." Lloyd murmures in Kai's ear. Kai realizes his hands are slightly shaking and he fights to keep them still, trying to hide his nerves.

"Ok, this isn't too bad I guess." He mumbles to himself, clinging to Lloyd's arm as if his life depends on it. Which in his opinion, it did.

Slowly Lloyd begins to move them around the rink, showing Kai how to push with his feet to propel himself forward. And gradually Kai starts to get the hang of it. Still holding onto Lloyd, but not as tightly as before.

As his confidence builds he decides to try and skate on his own. Without telling Lloyd, Kai lets go of his arm and pushes with his feet to try and go forward. But he totally forgets about his balance and suddenly finds himself falling. Kai closes his eyes and prepares to hit the hard, cold ice, but he never does. Instead he feels strong, warm arms wrap around his midsection and he opens his eyes to stare into the emerald green ones of Lloyd, who is hovering only an inch or so above him.

"Well that was dumb of me." Kai mutters, embarasment washing over him.

"You could say that." Lloyd says back, leaning close to softly whisper into Kai's ear, "But I can say that you look pretty cute right now."

Kai's next breath catches in his throat at his boyfriend's words. "Damn, getting flirty now are we?" He whispers back.

Lloyd doesn't answer, instead he brings Kai into a kiss, soft and passionate. Both momentarily forgetting where they were. As they break away to breathe, Lloyd pulls Kai back onto his feet and grabs his hands again.

"Wanna try again?" He asks. Kai nods his head, stsarting to like skating a bit more. "Good," Lloyd says, an amused grin makes an appearance on his face as he sontinues, "but this time, don't let go."
