25 Days of Holiday Fluff: 2023

Midnight peeker

It's nighttime in the Monastery, yes, they finally rebuilt it after Jay burned it down again.

A shadowy figure makes their way down the hallway towards the living room. Rounding the corner they spot the brightly colored Christmas tree the ninja had set up earlier that day. Already there are presents under it, wrapped in brightly colored paper.

They sneakily creep over to the tree, reaching out with a hand for a present. When suddenly, the living room lights are turned on. They jump away from the tree and whirl around, finding one very sleep deprived ninja sitting on the couch in his green pjs.

"I knew you were going to do this." Lloyd grumbles, crossing his arms as he glares at his boyfriend.

"You're almost as bad as Jay, Kai."

Kai rubs the back of his head, slightly embarrassed, and opens his mouth to speak, but Lloyd holds up a hand and says. "No, I'm not done yet."

"You know what Nya has had to do with Jay?"

"She put a freaking lock on their door that locks from the outside. And have Zane lock them in at night, just so that Jay doesn't look at the presents early!"

"Please tell me that I won't have to do that to our room? Please." Lloyd sighs and rubs his eyes with one hand, yawning a bit.

"I've been sitting here for hours, hours! Waiting for you to inevitably sneak out of our room and try to take a look at your gifts."

"I'm exhausted!" Lloyd slumps down in his seat, eyes starting to droop closed as he finishes with his rant.

"I swear I'll... *yawn* get a lock... *yawn* if..." Lloyd can't even finish his sentence before he finally falls asleep, slumping over slightly on the couch.

Kai smiles at his sleepy boyfriend, walking over to him and gently picking him up. Lloyd wraps his arms around Kai's neck, mumbling nonsense about chickens and pie.

Turning off the living room lights as he leaves, Kai walks back down the hallway to his and Lloyd's room. Opening the door and closing it behind them, he sets his boyfriend down on their bed, climbing in beside him and snuggling with him.

He decides that maybe he won't try and look at his gifts before Christmas, maybe. And letting out a yawn of his own, Kai falls asleep, well after midnight.
