It's a cold winter morning in Ninjago, the wind blows snowflakes across the deck of the Bounty as the ninja go through their sunrise exercises.

"Burrrr, why are we doing this again?" Cole asks, shivering slightly.

"Because Master Wu says that it is important to keep ourselves flexible and ready for combat at all times." Zane replies, moving to the next position.

"Yeah, but why do we need to do it outside? Can't we do it somewhere warm?" Jay complains.

"The fresh air helps clear your mind Jay." Nya says.

"Which won't happen unless you shut up." Kai grumbles, his naturally warm body clashes harshly with the cold, causing him to often be grouchy in the winter.

"Guys, the less we talk, the faster we can be done and go back inside. So can you all please be quiet?" Lloyd says, turning to face the others with an exasperated expression.

The ninja grumbled a bit more before falling silent and continuing their stretches.

After they finished, the six of them split up to do various things around Ninjago. Zane heads off to Borg Tower to update his processor with Pixal. Jay and Nya have decided to go shopping for Christmas presents. And Cole goes to a local bakery to find the perfect dessert for after dinner. This leaves Kai and Lloyd alone on the Bounty.

Kai is on the couch curled up in blankets, trying to stay warm. While Lloyd is in the kitchen, trying out a new hot cocoa recipe he had found. He knows it will be the perfect thing to help his grouchy, cold boyfriend warm up and relax.

Humming 'Baby, It's Cold Outside' as he walks, Lloyd makes his way over to the bundle of blankets on the couch that conceals Kai. He sets down the mugs he is holding and leans over the blankets, pushing them aside until he finds the top of Kai's head.

"I thought I was the blanket hog around here." Lloyd teases. Giving Kai a quick peck on the head.

Kai grumbles something and moves around, burying himself further into the pile of fabric.

"Hey, Mr. Grumpy Gi. I got you something." Lloyd says in a sing-song voice. Trying to entice his boyfriend out of the blankets. It works as Kai pops his head up and mumbles, "What is it?" Shooting Lloyd a grouchy look.

"Something hot and delicious." Lloyd says back.

"But I already have someone hot and delicious," Kai counters, a flirtatious look in his eyes as he continues, "and they're standing right in front of me."

Lloyd's cheeks turn bright red and he fumbles for words, stammering out, "K-Kai! I-I, you, wha-, that's not-." before ending up saying, "I said 'something' not 'someone'!"

Kai chuckles and says, "Well you certainly fit the description, Greenie." Causing another wave of blood to rush up to Lloyd's face.

"Well, uh, anyway, I brought you hot coco." Lloyd skillfully changes the topic, handing one of the mugs he had brought over to Kai, who takes it and has a sip. His eyes sparkle as the sweet taste hits his taste buds, and he eagerly drinks more.

Lloyd sits down on the couch next to him, managing to steal some of Kai's blankets as he drinks his own mug. The TV remote in his hand as he asks Kai, "Hey, wanna watch a movie?"

"Sure, can we wach the Christmas Cronicals?" He says, perking up a bit at the idea.

Lloyd turns on the TV and plays the Christmas Cronicals, sitting back and cuddling up with Kai a bit more as the movie starts.

Kai finishes his coco a few minutes in, he starts to lean his head against Lloyd's shoulder around a quarter of the way through. At the halfway point his eyes start drooping closed, and by the time there is only a half hour left, he has fallen asleep, snuggled up against Lloyd.

Lloyd glances over at his boyfriend, smiling as he realizes Kai is asleep. He gently plants a kiss on Kai's forehead before turning off the TV and wrapping his arms around Kai to properly cuddle with him. He falls asleep himself soon after, the two of them cuddled up together in their cocoon of blankets. Warm and happy.
