9am:
"Ugh, I'm so bored!" Jay complains, throwing his hands up in the air.
"There's nothing to do on this ship!"
"You could always clean your room, or do any of the other chores that you've let pile up." Nya suggests helpfully.
"But that's too much work." Jay whines, "Can't we just cuddle like those two?"
He points over to the couch where Kai and Lloyd are curled up, watching tv and playing with each other's hair.
"I have something we can do." Zane suddenly says from the doorway to the kitchen.
"What is it?!" Jay asks excitedly.
"Since it's the Christmas season, I thought we would all enjoy making paper snowflakes to decorate the Bounty with." Zane answers.
"Yeah! I love arts and crafts!" Jay bounces up and down in his seat.
"Hey lovebirds! Wanna make paper snowflakes with us?" Nya shouts to the two on the couch.
Simultaneously they both turn to look at her and without a second thought, Lloyd leaps over the back of the couch to come sliding over to them, an excited look in his eyes. At his departure, there is a panicked squeak from Kai, who hurriedly turns off the tv and almost trips over his own feet in his rush to get back to Lloyd.
"Don't just leave me like that Greenie." He whines, coming over and wrapping his arms around Lloyd's waist, nuzzling the side of his neck.
"Sorry hottie," Lloyd says, gently petting his clingy boyfriend's hair. "I just really want to make snowflakes."
"You know, I was always the best at arts and crafts back when I would do them with Nya." Kai says with a slightly smug grin.
Upon hearing this Jay lets out a gasp of outrage, saying, "Oh yeah! I bet you aren't half as good as me."
"Is that a challenge, Zap-trap?" Kai asks, stepping forward to come toe to toe with the lighting ninja.
"You bet it is, Air-head." Jay proclaims, meeting the fire ninja's gaze evenly, despite their two inch height difference.
"Whoever makes the best paper snowflakes wins." Kai declares, then points to Zane, saying, "And Zane will be the judge."
Zane just blinks in surprise for a moment before sighing and going along with it.
"Come on Nya," Jay says, grabbing one of Nya's hands, "let's get started on our TOTALY BETTER SNOWFLAKES!" he shouts the last part, glaring at the Christmas colored ninja.
"Lloyd and I are gonna crush you two!" Kai yells back, he takes hold of Lloyd's hand and starts to walk over to the other side of the room where the art supplies are.
Lloyd and Nya can only shoot a quick look of confusion at each other before they are pulled in different directions.
11am:
"Arugh!" Jay yells, throwing down the crumpled remains of a paper snowflake. They have been at this for hours, somehow turning an activity that should've only taken a half hour, into a competition that has stretched on for two.
"This is impossible!"
"Actualy that last one you made was really nice, Jay." Nya says, trying to calm her frustrated boyfriend down.
"Yeah, but it wasn't good enough." Jay insists, his eyes flicking over to Kai and Lloyd's station.
Lloyd is leaning on one elbow, watching as his boyfriend struggles to unfold his snowflake, trying to be careful so as to not rip it.
"Ah ha!" Kai shouts triumphantly, holding up his snowflake. "Ya know, I really like this one. But it could use something else. Hmm." He muses, thinking for a moment before his eyes light up with an idea. "I know! Glitter! I should put glitter on it!" He jumps up to go grab the glitter, leaving Lloyd who just rolls his eyes, having already finished his own.
"Perfect, light blue and silver glitter." Kai says, setting down two containers of glitter and some glue on the table.
He carefully smooths out his snowflake and gently puts glue on the spots he wants to make glittery. He then tries to tap out some glitter, but ends up accidentally dumping a whole buch on the paper.
"Whoops." Kai winces, hearing Lloyd let out a sigh next to him. Lloyd reaches over and sweeps the excess glitter back into the container, letting Kai admire his snowflake.
"Hey! Where did you get that glitter?!" Jay's voice comes from across the room. Kai looks up and sees the two other ninja watching him, Jay's face switching between confusion, anger, and jealousy within the span of ten seconds. He then marches over and tries to grab one of the containers of glitter, saying, "If you're gonna use it, then I want some too." But Kai takes hold of the container as well, and a tug of war match breaks out as they both try to wrestle to glitter out of the other's grasp.
Suddenly Jay's hand slips, and with one final tug, Kai is able to yank the glitter away from him. But he misjudges the amount of force to use, and glitter ends up getting sprayed everywhere, on him, Jay, and Lloyd. Everyone is silent for a moment, then they all burst out laughing.
"Oh man, if only you could see yourself right now. You look like an old man with all that silver glitter in your hair." Jay exclaims, pointing to Kai's hair, the front part of it is almost completely coated in silver specks, indeed making him look old.
Behind him, Lloyd has avoided most of the glitter, but there was still a good amount of it mixed in with his golden locks. Jay has the least glitter on him, only a little on his gi and face.
"This is gonna be a pain to wash out." Kai groans, shaking his head and causing a ton of glitter to go flying.
"I do hope you two know that you're going to be the ones cleaning this mess up, right?" Zane says from over on the couch.
"Don't worry Zane, I'll make sure they clean it up." Nya calls, shaking her head with amusment at the glitter covered boys. "Who won the competition anyway?" She asks Zane.
"I bet it was me, Jay didn't even finish his." Kai boasts.
But Zane is shaking his head no, saying, "Actually, Lloyd won."
All eyes turn to Lloyd who just blushes sheepishly and holds up his perfect snowflake, mumbling, "What, I like making snowflakes."
