Things were kind of back to normal the next morning as I was the first one up. The rest of my dorm was silent. I decided to have a shower, get change and go and explore the mansion a little bit more. I slipped into my only mini skirt and a white long sleeve shirt. I put on my boots and walked out the door. Once I was actually out of the dorm room I felt less adventurous but I still had to get away from all the silence. It was kind of suffocating and I just needed some fresh air. I crept down the hallways trying not to wake anyone up. I wasn’t sure if I wanted company or not. I also didn’t want to make anyone mad. I did a few twists and turns and ended up in the kitchen. The cooking staff was all getting ready for the day so they didn’t even notice me. Thankfully. I wasn’t sure if I was allowed in the kitchen. The whole room was white and very clean. It was more like a kitchen for a restaurant than that of a mansion. There were trolleys filled with white plates after white plates. I was wondering what type of food they were going to serve us when I saw Alison out of the window. She was sitting outside on a bench under a tree. She was shaking. Maybe she was cold but then I had a feeling something else had happened. Without thinking I was standing in front of one of the chefs which, was holding a tray of hot muffins.

“Hi” I smiled.

“Hello” the man looked at me oddly. Why did I say hi?

“Can I borrow these?” I asked as I took two muffins. I opened the back door that led to Alison. “Oh thank-you!” I called over my shoulder as I left. Wow it was a lot colder than I thought it would be. I held on to the muffins tight, trying to warm my hands. I should have worn gloves or at least a jumper. I had no idea that the temperature could change so much. I stepped on a twig that snapped making Alison look up at me.

“What do you want?” Alison asked looking down at her feet.

“I-I-I thought you might want one” I stuttered. I looked like a complete idiot. Oh well I didn’t really care.

“I don’t want it” Alison replied sharply. She seemed really upset. Alison was worried about something. I wondered what it could be. I sat down next to Alison. She didn’t look up at me but I knew she could tell I was there.

“Mmm….so warm and delicious” I commented as I took a bite of my muffin. Alison gave me a quick glance and then looked back down at her fingers. They were shaking.

“Can I have the other one…please?” Alison whispered. If I wasn’t paying attention I would have never heard her. I smiled and offered the muffin. Alison gave me a small smile and took it into her hands. I could tell that she liked the warmth on her ice-like finger tips. “Why are you being so nice to me?”

“What are you talking about?” I asked as I titled my head to the left a little.

“Come on…I have been horrible to you ever since I have met you” Alison replied. She continued to stare at her muffin. I could hear a faint sound of guilt in her voice. Maybe Alison wasn’t that bad. She could have just been worried I was going to take Blade away from her. That was ridiculous. I then had a flashback of last night’s kiss from Blade. Why was I thinking about that at a time like this? I was trying to convince myself that that kiss didn’t mean anything when I heard Alison start to sniffle.

“Are you ok?” I noticed that she was beginning to cry. What could I do? “Alison?”

“I’m fine…sorry” Alison sniffled again.

“Don’t worry, but are you sure you are ok?” I asked again. I was actually really concerned.

“I’m fine…” Alison began.

“No you’re not” Blade’s voice made me snap my head up in surprise. There standing before me was Blade. He was more sensibly than me as he was wearing long pants and a jumper. I looked down at my mini skirt and blushed slightly.
