I woke up the next morning to the sunlight creeping through the blinds. It was simple yet so beautiful, I would have started to draw it but I didn’t want to move from the covers. My bed was perfectly warm seeing as the crisp morning air was swirled together with just the hint of a chill.
“Morning sleepy head” Georgia smiled as she leaned over me.
“Morning, what time is it?” I asked looking around. Sabrina and Raven were nowhere to be seen.
“Around seven, I think. Sabrina and Raven have already gone to have breakfast, I said I’d wait till you woke up so you didn’t freak out about being alone” Georgia explained.
“You know me too well and we only met three days ago”
“What can I say? You are slightly predicable”
“Shut up” I said teasingly as I hit my roommate with my pillow. Unfortunately I did have to get out of bed and face the day. I dressed into my long aqua skirt and peach top with the slogan To the world you may be one person, but to one person you mean the world. My aunty and uncle had given it to me a year ago for Christmas. I had seen it and fell in love with it straight away, kind of like love at first sight.
“You coming?” Georgia waved her hand in front of my face while standing next to the opened dorm door.
“Let’s go, I wonder what we will be having for breakfast today?”
“We won’t know until we get there” Georgia laughed as the two of us started down towards the dining hall.
After breakfast all the girls were assembled in hall which was covered with tables. My friends and I sat down at one of the tables near the back of the room.
“Good morning ladies. The next task today is a quiz about yourselves; you will all answer a series of questions and then Blade will look over them and decide the next seven girls to go” James announced into a microphone. A quiz on ourselves. I wonder what questions they were going to ask. Secretly I was in love with quizzes. My uncle and I always went on the computer and stayed up late doing crazy quizzes such as “What type of ice-cream are you?” I liked that one a lot. I was hokey pokey...I loved that type of ice-cream.
“Don’t worry too much, you have plenty of time to complete all the questions...remember Blade wants to get to know the true you” James smiled and left the microphone. Before I knew it, there was a booklet sitting in front of me. When did that appear?
“Here we go” Raven sighed as she opened her booklet.
Name: Iris Megan Hollow
Birthday: 4th July
Favourite colour: Aqua green and scarlet red
Favourite animal: Fox
What you look for in a guy: I want a guy who can understand the true me, the me that no one else knows. Someone who makes me laugh and lets me cry when I need to.
Dream date: Picnic near the ocean, anywhere with water really....
Happiest moment: When my aunty first told me “If I had a daughter I wouldn’t want her to be like you...I’d want her to be you”.
Dream job: An artist for comics and cartoons
Hobbies: Drawing
Favourite TV show: One Tree Hill
The rest of the questions were the usual, pet’s name, favourite jewel and stuff like that. I thought the question “What do you look for in a guy?” pretty funny because I had a feeling that a lot of girls just wrote down one word...Blade. I was kind of glad that Blade was trying to get to know the girls here and not just ditch them for their looks. Soon enough everyone had handed in there surveys and were chatting about something or other.
