"I don't like this, Tae; the last time you were around an Omega, you fainted. Now, you think you can just go out there and look for Jin? You don't even know what he looks like."

"Mom," the Alpha sighed, "I would know his scent from a mile away. I have the college he goes to; I will find him. You can't stop me."

"But."

"No buts, I don't have much more time. It's after the new year, and I will not have my Omega forced into helping an Alpha during her rut. He doesn't want that; he wants me, and I want him."

His mother wasn't wrong. The last time he was around an Omega, he did faint. But he has a reason, a purpose now. He has to do this for Jin. That's his Omega. An Omega that has saved him over and over. Mr. Han told him how Jin came to the hospital because Tae's body was giving up and how he scented enough bedding to get him through for months before his family could take him home.

But he'll do anything to save Jin, anything. And that includes braving the world and all the scents. With his mask donned, he left. The college was about an hour away from his house. The campus was beautiful. There was snow everywhere, and it truly looked like a winter wonderland. The cold actually helped; it muted the scents a bit. The snow weakened it enough that Tae wasn't overwhelmed.

The only issue was that he kept smelling Jin but could not find him. It started first with a female Alpha and then with a male Beta. He caught Jin's scent and followed it, only to find the couple that smelled like caramel and sea salt. Tae wanted to ask them where Jin was, but he was an Alpha, and they didn't know him. Odds are the Alpha would just become territorial with him. At first, he thought that this might be the female Alpha that was forcing Jin, but the couple was clearly together, and if she had that Beta, why would she need Jin?

Then he found another trace of it leading into a coffee shop. It was a male Alpha who looked half asleep and angry about the fact that he was awake. His chocolate scent was clear as day once Tae honed in on it. And not thirty seconds later, another small Alpha practically threw himself at the sleepy one. Tae couldn't tell what his scent was; they were covered entirely in each other's scent. Was the happy Alpha's scent coffee?

Tae shook his head and made his way out of the little coffee shop. He took a deep breath and found Jin's scent yet again. He followed it to a Beta that had just left the library. The Beta smelled like old books, Jin's chamomile, and bananas. What an odd combo, but he followed him at a safe distance. He was the only one who was leaving campus.

To Tae's utter surprise, the Beta ended up at a Youth Center where he was picking up a younger Omega. One that looked a lot like Jin and also a bit like a bunny when he smiled. The Omega looked at the Beta with hearts in his big doe eyes. He smelled heavily of Jin, almost to the point where his banana scent was muted. There was also a faint hint of books coming from him.

He was talking 100 miles a minute, his arms flying around in the air to make big gestures. The Beta was smiling down at him so sweetly. That has to be Jin's younger brother, he mumbled to himself. And he was correct; not five minutes later, they were walking into the house with the purple door. Tae could smell so many scents coming from it. Chamomile, Chocolate, Coffee, Caramel, Banana, Books, Sea Salt, and even a hint of his own Amber.

That made his Alpha perk up a bit, but there was also one other scent he picked up. Pickles, he scrunched up his nose. It had to be the girl Alpha who was courting Jin. Tae wanted to smirk; no wonder Jin wanted nothing to do with her. Why would he want to go from Amber to Pickles, and didn't he say that she smelled like Tae? So, he was going to look for this pickle girl since Jin remains elusive at the moment.

It didn't take him long to find her; her scent was strong since she was in pre-rut. He found her sitting with two other girls; based on their scents, they were Betas. Tae wanted to say something to her, but he figured it would be better to sit and listen to what she had to say. It's not his fault that she decided to speak so loudly in public, and if he accidentally recorded what she said, well, no one could blame him.

"Da, I really don't think this is a good idea," the Beta with the blonde hair said.

Of course, her name was Da. To attain it, Tae wanted to roll his eyes so hard—an Alpha who wanted to attain something that wasn't hers.

"I don't care; you know how hard it was to find an Omega that was willing to fuck me? I hate Alphas, and Betas are barely even wolves." Tae squeezed his glass so hard that it would break if he didn't control himself. How could she say that right in front of her two friends, Betas?

"But didn't you say that he has feelings for another Alpha?"

Da laughed like some B-rated movie villain. "He's in a situationship with some Alpha. He told me a little bit about it; apparently, he imprinted on this Alpha when he was young, but they can't ever be together. The Alpha doesn't want him. Why do you think I buy so many scent changers? I had to smell like that dumbass Alpha even to get Jin to speak to me."

"That's horrible," one of the Betas whispered, "to mess with an Omega that has imprinted."

Da just scoffed, "What would you know? You two are just Betas."

Tae had heard enough; if he stayed here any longer, he was going to be charged with murder. He got up and started to walk around aimlessly. He had no idea what to do. Does he just show up at Jin's house? They would think he was crazy. But he had to do something.

He had so much energy and anger to burn off. Why would an Alpha do that? Even more to somebody as sweet as Jin. An Omega that went out of his way to save an unknown Alpha. He scented items for Tae for years, and he even came to the hospital to save him. And this is how he's being treated.

It's a crime to coerce a wolf into helping with your rut or heat. Those Beta friends of hers could turn her into the authorities if they wanted. Tae would have a harder time since he's connected to Jin. Da could just say that he's lying and that he's just jealous that the Omega is now with her, even though that's so far from the truth.

His feet took him all over campus. The snow was not even bothering him since he was in such a foul mood. His Alpha was more than agitated. He wanted to bite that girl, and not in a fun way. He walked around for a few hours, trying to cool off before returning to the coffee shop. Needing something to eat and drink before he came up with the plan to meet Jin. As soon as he opened the front door, he stumbled back. The scent of chamomile hit him like a ton of bricks, and his Alpha just took over.
