"What do you think he wants to talk to you about?"

Jin looked at Yoonji. She looked so concerned for her twin. "I'm not sure, but if it's something serious, I'm sure he'll want to talk to you too. There's not much we can do until Jimin's rut is over, so there's no use stressing about it now."

"I miss Yoongi," Kook whined. He had one arm wrapped around Joon's and was still leaning on the elder's bicep. But he was eating, so Jin wasn't going to fuss at him. When he went to get him earlier, he almost cooed at how cute the little pup was. He was drowning in Joon's hoodie. But he looked so happy sitting there talking to Yoonji.

"I know, but you are going to be out of it most of the week anyway. You picked a great time to present; you might not even miss any school."

Kook frowned, "ugh, why did I have to present during a holiday?" He was pouting, and it was so adorable.

"Just lucky, I guess," Jin chuckled, "Now let's get some more food in that tummy and then get you in the bath. It'll help later when the fever comes back."

"I'm not a baby, Jin; I know how to use a shower."

Ah, there's that teenage sass he missed so much. "I know that, Bun. The bath is to keep your temperature down. You've been lucky so far, and you've stayed fairly cool. But the farther into your presentation you get, the warmer you are going to be. It's not fun, so I'm just trying to help." 

"Fine," he said, turning to look at Joon. "Can we watch a movie after?"

Joon's eyes widened as he looked at the pup and then at Jin, asking for help. "Bun," Jin sighed. "Joonie has to go back to his dorm. We have classes tomorrow, remember?" 

He pouted but nodded his head without argument, and it honestly broke Joon's heart a bit. "I can come tomorrow after class, though, if you want. We can watch whatever you want, and we can even stay up late."

His eyes darted to Jin's, realizing that he couldn't promise that if Jin said no. While his wolf has decided that Kook is for him, he's still 13 and under Jin's guidance. "That's fine. I have evening classes tomorrow anyway. So, that actually works better. You can come watch him while I'm in class. I was going to ask Yoonji, but if you are here."

"I'm actually busy tomorrow, so it's best if Joon can come." She wasn't, not at all. But she's always been the type to get in other's business.

After they all ate, Joon and Yoonji left while Jin got Kook ready for bed. The pup was a tad bit upset about Joon leaving, but he was trying to be a man and not cry. "You can be upset, Bun, you are presenting, and it takes a toll on your emotions. Add in that you are going to be an Omega, and you are imprinted on Joon. It's a lot, so cry it out. Jinnie will be here for as long as you want." 

"Can we go to your nest?" He asked, and as soon as Jin nodded his head yes, the pup started to sob. Jin picked him up and carried him into his room, he wasn't exactly small but this was his baby brother. It didn't matter to Jin that he was 13. 

"Shh, it's okay. I'm here," he whispered as he held onto him and rocked him back and forth. It didn't take long before the sobs turned into sniffles, and the sniffles turned into whimpers, and whimpers turned into snores. "I love you, Bun. No matter what, I'm here." He whispered into the boy's hair while trying to hold back his own tears.

Life at the apartment was strange; they hadn't seen Yoongi the entire week. Joon came over that next day and watched Kook. But then his wolf wouldn't let him leave, so he slept on the couch. Jimin was the most normal Alpha in rut that Jin had ever seen, not that he'd seen any besides the twins. But he didn't even seem like he was in rut at all. He was always more concerned about Yoongi getting food and drinks, like he was taking care of the older and not vice versa. 

Jin came home that first day to Joon fast asleep on the couch with Kook passed out on top of him. When Jin woke the Beta up, he started stuttering, apologizing about the position they were found in. He swore that nothing happened, making Jin frown. "Calm down; I know you wouldn't do anything. He's 13, stop apologizing. I'm just surprised he's sleeping here and not in a nest. Is he okay?"

Joon shook his head, "After his shower, I told him good night, and he went to lay down in your nest. But he got distressed because he didn't have my scent. So he went to his nest, but I'm a Beta. My scents don't last as long as Alphas or Omegas. So it was gone from his as well. I offered to scent any item he wanted, but he was crying so hard that I couldn't get him to calm down. So I did the only thing I could think of. I picked him up and put his face in my neck."

"Let me guess, he wouldn't let you put him back down?"

The Beta nodded his head, "Yeah, every time I tried, he would start crying again. I could smell Yoongi's distressed scent every time Jimin would open the door to check on us. So I laid down on the couch, hoping he'd fall asleep, and then I'd put him back in his nest. I must have fallen asleep."

Jin laughed a bit, "Yeah, the couch is saturated in my scent. I'm not really surprised that you two fell asleep. I'm actually surprised that he didn't fall asleep in my nest. It's strongest there. I must have been really distressed about your scent." He frowned a bit, "do you want me to take him? I know how heavy he is. He slept in my nest last night in that same position."

A low rumble that almost sounded like a growl came out of Joon's mouth before the Beta smacked a hand over it and looked at Jin with his dragon eyes wide open in shock. "I'm sorry," he mumbled from behind his palm.

"Did your Beta just try to growl at me?" Jin's voice was full of amusement, and it calmed Joon down a bit.

"I think his presentation and the imprint are affecting me. My Beta does not want to leave him alone or in distress. But he's just a pup. It's weird."

"I get it. Wolves are complex creatures. Right now, your Beta wants to protect the distressed pup. But he probably already knows that this is his future mate, which is why his pheromones aren't affecting you at all. It's the only reason I left you alone with him. Jimin is already taken, and Yoonji and Yoongi grew up with him. Their wolves see him as their little brother. You are the odd man out."

A frown took over his face, "I'd like to think that I wouldn't be affected by any 13-year-old because that's wrong on so many levels." He sighed a bit, "But I understand where you are coming from. Even my Beta nose can smell how strong he smells."

"Well, he's drowning in your scent now, so I suggest carrying him to his nest. Then you can go home."

Another soft growl left the Beta's lips before he shook his head, "Yeah, can I stay here? He won't let me leave, and just in case he wakes up in the middle of the night and needs me, I'll be here."

It was sweet; he wouldn't need him. But it was still sweet.
