"Are Alphas supposed to nest?"
Dae-Sung was frantically flipping through his copy of So your pup is now an Alpha, and you have questions as a Beta. "That's an Omega thing," he whispered back, "do we stop him?" He was slightly distressed. Tae was frantically rearranging the bedding that Jin had sent back to make it perfect on his bed. He'd been doing it for the past 45 minutes. He was in the zone.
"Don't you dare," Bong-cha threatened in a harsh whisper, "it's adorable. Maybe he'll purr too?"
"Well, he's already nesting. What's one more Omegan trait? This book is worthless; maybe we should just get the Omega one. We should leave him alone before he hears us."
"I'm an Alpha," Tae scoffed, "you know how good our hearing is?"
"Look how adorable he is," his mother sighed, "his hair is so fluffy," she bounced over to her son. "Can I enter your nest? I know that's important to ask."
Tae pouted and crossed his arms over his chest, "It's not a nest; it's," he looked around at what very clearly was a nest. "I was just making my bed."
Both of his parents raised their eyebrows but decided not to comment on it further. "Does this calm you, his scent?"
The young Alpha grinned, something he hadn't done in a very long time. They had missed it so much. He looked so happy, so young and relaxed. "Yes, I just want to lay down and sleep. I feel so safe, like nothing can hurt me here."
His father cocked his head to the side, that's not a usual reaction for an Alpha, that's usually one for an Omega. But that's fine. Whatever makes his son happy is fine with him. "That's nice son, well why don't you take a nap until dinner time?"
Like clockwork, every week, Tae's parents would send items for Jin to scent, and two days later, Jin would send them back. Tae was thriving, and he was back to becoming his silly self. He was even venturing out some, not for very long and in very controlled environments, but it was progress.
When their year contract was up, they immediately signed another year and doubled their rates. It was worth it to see their son doing so well, and he was turning into the kind of Alpha that every parent would dream of. He was kind and loving, and he was handsome and sweet. He was still very wary of Omegas, but he was getting better as long as Jin's scent surrounded him.
When it was time to sign the contract for their third year, they found out that Jin would age out of the minor program before the contract was up. They were devastated. Tae still had two more years before he'd age out. What would they do? Tae was still so reliant on Jin's scent.
The boys had even started exchanging letters; it was all innocent. Nothing that would illude to who either of them was. All they knew about Jin was he had a best friend named Min and a little brother named JK. All Jin knew about Tae was that he was an only child, he was hurt badly by an Omega, and chamomile was his favorite tea. Everything else was very surface-level.
"What do we do?"
"What can we do? We sign the contract for as long as possible and hope for the best." It wasn't the best solution, but what other option was there, "maybe we can find another Omega with chamomile?" It was a long shot. Dae-sung knew that. But they had to try, at least.
"There's no other Omega with the scent of chamomile on the entire website," Bong-cha was so frustrated that she didn't know what she was going to do. "How is that even possible?"
"I don't know," her husband replied, just as frustrated, "I honestly don't know." They'd been in talks with so many people trying to find a solution. Apparently, chamomile is a very rare scent and one that is highly sought after for its healing properties. One that if Jin had known what he had, he could have charged way more.
"Do you think he'd be willing to do this outside of the website? Maybe we can explain that Tae is still a minor and will be for two more years." She didn't want to hope, but it was their only option at this point. They couldn't find any other Omegas with the same scent, and even if they could, no scent was entirely the same, even if they held the same properties. Each person brought different things to the table and made them different.
Jin was looking at the letter that came with his weekly package, and it wasn't like the one that Tae usually writes. This one was thicker and looked way more official; his eyes teared up a bit when he read it.
Dearest Jin,
I know this is highly inappropriate, and Tae would be most upset if he ever learned that we wrote this to you. But we were desperate. When our Tae was but a young pup, we were so busy with our business that we enlisted the help of raising him to the care of an Omega Nanny. We went with an agency with amazing reviews and an Omega with glowing recommendations. Sadly, this Omega abused our son for years without our knowledge. Because of this, he's now very, very afraid of Omegas. When he presented as an Alpha, they told us that he could go feral if we didn't find him an Omega scent he could be around.
You were our last hope, Jin. You saved our son. He was but a shell of himself, and you gave us our smiling boy back, and we can never thank you enough for that. When we found out about you aging out of the program, we felt like our world was ending yet again. Our son cannot go on without your scent. We even tried to find another Omega with your scent, and we can't. But even if we could, I'm not sure it would work. We know that this can't last forever, but at least until he's an adult. Is there any way you'd still be willing to do this after you age out with just us?
We know that this is so inappropriate, and if it weren't for our son's health, we'd never ask. He nests with the bedding you scent, an Alpha nesting. It's the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life. His fluffy hair and boxy smile are in the middle of a sea of blankets that smell like his Amber and your Chamomile. It makes this mother's heart so thankful. You can say no, and we will understand, but if you are willing to do this, we'll pay for your school. Tae has mentioned that you are saving up to go to college. We'll pay for your school, room, and board for all four years if you do this until Tae turns 18 in two years. Please let us know.
The Kims
"Yoongi, what do I do?"
The Alpha snorted at his friend. Yoonji rolled her eyes and walked over to the Omega, and grabbed the letter, "You are going to tell them yes so you can get my annoying ass brother out of the damn house so he can study music like he wants."
"Yah, this is about him, not me," Yoongi grumbled from his bed.
The younger Alpha shrugged her shoulder, "And? It's about both of you, really. You both need out of here, and this will get you both out of here. Tell them yes, get a two-bedroom apartment, and go. Jin, you deserve this, and frankly, my lazy ass brother deserves this as well. Plus, I'll need a place to hang out when the people in the dorms annoy me anyway."
"Just tell Mom and Dad to pitch in, and we can get a bigger place," Yoongi suggested without opening his eyes.
"Won't living with your sister mess up your game or something?"
"What game? Plus, I'm fairly sure living with an Omega would do that more than anything for most people."
Yoongi glared at Jin, "Like I want an Omega anyway."
