You know what you said before about wanting to have the paladins as your teammates? You lied. You are a big, fat liar. If this was what being part of the team would be like, maybe you should take back your decision...

"No way, that wouldn't work at all. The princess told us it wouldn't work."

"But it wouldn't hurt to try, right? Allura has that special magic voodoo thing that she does with the castle."

"It won't work. She told us that she can't do it. Get it in your thick skull."

"My thick skull?!"

Keith and Lance were in each other's faces, bickering like children. Everyone else was circled around them, watching on as if this was a daily occurrence. Knowing Keith, it probably was. You could remember how energetic and persistent Lance was back in the Garrison, and those personality traits never really mixed well with your broody boyfriend.

You sighed and ran a hand over your face, sharing the same exasperation that the rest of the room was feeling. How did it get to this so quickly? You all had just come back from a hearty breakfast of space goo (the goo wasn't actually that bad once you got over the initial hesitancy of consuming it. It was good enough that you were able to finish half your plate before getting full) and were now gathered back in that big space room, or the bridge, as they called it. Breakfast was quiet and peaceful. But now it was time to find the white lion, and apparently, they couldn't keep it civil for much longer. The way they were acting right now, it was a miracle that a fight didn't break out halfway through your meal.

"Come on, guys, let's just calm down and think this through. We don't need to fight so early." Shiro had stepped in between the two boys and was physically holding them away from each other. Even so, they glared at each other with the same level of maturity as a six-year-old.

"I'll calm down when Mullet admits that I can have good ideas sometimes," Lance spat out, forming a shitty smirk as your boyfriend scowled.

"Your idea would have gotten us nowhere. I'm not admitting shit."

Shiro sighed and continued to keep them separated, looking so done with it all.

The others had told you how they had found their own lions. Allura's life force was connected to the ship, which was connected to the lions, making it easy for them to be retrieved. Unfortunately for you, the white lion was not connected to her life force.

"The white paladin ran away with her lion before I could do so," Allura explained. "My father had only connected me to the castle during the... fall... of Altea. I would have no way to track it down by myself."

That eliminated the easiest option you had. Damnit.

You tried to rack your brain for any ideas on what to do. What other possibilities did you have to find this lion? Admittedly, not much. If it was so easy to find it, the Galra would have taken it by now, so you had to think hard about this. However, it was really hard to try to bring up any thoughts when the room was filled with the bickering of two supposedly grown men. You tried to ignore them, tried to drown them out as you thought this whole thing through, but your patience had its limits.

You gritted your teeth and whipped your head to the boys. "Hey!" Your shout was loud enough to be heard over Keith and Lance, who both stopped their bickering to look at you. "Both of you, cut it out."

At least Keith knew better than to make the situation worse with you. After giving one last glare to Lance, he pulled away from Shiro and moved to stand by your side. "Sorry, babe," he said quietly, though his arms were crossed over his chest as he looked away from everyone else, instead turning his attention to the stars outside.
