Lucius eyes shot open when he heard a hiss, he immediately rushed to Carvida's side and helped her sit up. "How are you feeling my little flower? Do you feel pain anywhere? Do you want some water?" Lucius bombarded her with questions. His heart racing. He was so worried for her.
"W-Where are we?" She asked drowsily, observing the room.
"We are in the hospital. You were asleep for 3 days... It's a miracle you are still alive despite everything you went through" Lucius replied helping her drink some water and looking at her with endless love and adoration. He had waited for her to wake up. He wanted to see her eyes and see her breathing first before going to Aziel.. And the only reason why Aziel accepted is only because he knew it would torture Lucius to leave her once she's finally awake... Just the thought of it indeed made Lucius'heart ache terribly. He was going to leave his love...
"W-Why did you do that? You are going to be a slave again..." Carvida whispered looking up into his eyes with tears. He sighed heavily and placed the glass of water on the table. Indeed signing that contract brought past trauma. It reminded him of how his father had sold his mom and him to a mafia...And now he had sold himself to a drug dealer. But the difference was that his dad did that for money... Lucius did it for love... For her.
"My little flower, if I have to give up on my life, my freedom, my money, my career for you. I would do it because all those things have no value to me if you are not happy. If you are not reaching to the top just like I wanted and living your life" Lucius replied caressing her chin lovingly. Carvida closed her eyes in response, letting her tears fall with a heavy sigh.
"You are going to leave me... Right?" She asked after a few seconds, her voice croaked. Lucius'heart tore apart at her words and the pain behind her voice.
"Unfortunately yes my baby... I have to. I was waiting for you to wake up first.." Lucius whispered softly and wiped her tears gently.
Carvida opened her eyes and stared at him with immense love and affection "I love you Lucius" She said making Lucius'heart tear apart even more. He had yearned to hear those words for so long and it was offered to him just when he had to leave her... It was both a blessing and a curse to hear those words in this instant.
"I love you too my little flower. More than you will ever understand" Lucius replied and Carvida hugged him tightly in response, wrapping her arms around his torso.
He exhaled softly and hugged her back lovingly while stroking her blonde hair. "I'll come back to you" Lucius vow making Carvida hold him tighter clearly unwilling to let go.
"You better come back to me" She warned making him chuckle. Even like this, she still managed to make him laugh.
"I will. I'm not scared of death or being a slave little flower. Only one thing I'm scared of is being unable to be by your side, being unable to watch over you and protect you" He stated breaking the hug to hold her face in his hands.
"I vow to you. I'll return. No matter what" He added fiercely. It was a vow.. One he intended on fulfilling. Aziel may be cunning but Lucius was not the CEO of the biggest company in the city for nothing. He was far more cunning, resilient and stubborn. He would certainly get his revenge.
"I trust you and I'll wait for you no matter what" Carvida replied, her beautiful amber eyes glistening with tears.
Lucius smiled softly and leaned closer to her. He then placed a soft tender loving kiss on her lips and closed his eyes memorising her scent, her touch and the feel of her soft lips against his. "I know you do trust me and I won't disappoint you" He whispered against her lips finally opening his piercing blue eyes to look into her warm amber eyes.
Carvida smiled sadly and caressed his cheek gently. "God.. I wish I never left the house that day.." She whispered with a soft sigh.
"I wish I never allowed you to leave either" Lucius replied with remorse. If only he had realised it earlier... It was only because of Aziel's message that he realised it was a trap. He clenched his jaw remembering the text :
You are going to lose your girl with just the snap of my fingers Lucius and you won't be able to do anything about it now
He clenched his fist in hatred and anger. Damn it he was a fool for just letting her leave the house like that. Aziel had tricked her using Mr Roger's number. He must have hacked his phone and Lucius wished... God damn it.. He wished he held her close to him in bed instead of allowing her to leave. It was wicked in a way how one choice or decision could wreck your entire world and destroy you.
"It's okay... What happened already happened... We can't change it... But you need to come back to me" Carvida stated making him snap back to reality.
"I surely will. Also my little flower, I learnt that your book has got the highest sale. Congratulations my baby" Lucius said caressing her hair. While she was asleep, Lucius made sure to check everything for her including her career, her financial stability and everything else before leaving. He was happy that her book was a hit but he wished he could celebrate it with her the way he wanted.
"Thanks..." She replied exhaling softly. Of course she was not happy... How could she be when he was leaving? But he wanted her to be fine and happy.
"Welcome... You are going to be discharged today my little flower. The doctor was waiting for you to wake up first and you should be good to go back home" Lucius replied calmly. He had invested in this hospital a lot and since he was feared and respected. No one asked what happened to his little flower when he came here with her
They simply got to work and saved her.
"Okay" She replied quietly making Lucius sigh.
"I know it's hard my little flower but listen to me carefully. I want you to always be fine and to take good care of yourself and eat on time alright" Lucius stated firmly.
"I will... For your sake" She replied looking at him with love and sadness.
"Good... I.. I will take my leave now my little flower" He replied and leaned closer to her to place a soft kiss on her forehead. "I left a last letter and a blue rose at home... Read it when you get there" He added pulling away from her.
"I can't... I can't let you go.. Please" Carvida said, her tears running freely. She held his hand tightly making his eyes turned teary.
"You have to my love... Just for some time.. I will come back"He replied giving her hand a squeeze before letting go. He then turned and walked away.
"Until we meet again then" She whispered just when he stood outside the door.
"Until we meet again little flower" He replied walking away... Away from his heartbeat, away from his home, his love, his everything.
