LACY WALKED THROUGH THE DOORS WITH CAROLINE IN HER ARMS, who had just began their first nap of the day. sodapop enters last with the diaper bag on his shoulder.
lacy shows darry caroline which puts him in awe, he even looked at meghan who had the same look on her face as him.
"oh let me hold her, please?" meghan tearfully begged.
"of course." lacy accepted.
meghan held the small, newly born human who slept peacefully in her arms.
"oh darry, can we have one?" she turned to him.
darry glared at sodapop and lacy, "see what you do."
lacy was finally at rest from all of the restless nights she endured, she thought she was going to lose her mind the night before with caroline's crying.
sodapop went into the kitchen to help himself to a meal.
dallas was silent as he hid himself behind meghan.
she turned to him, "why are you just standing there, do you wanna hold her?"
dallas tried to act like he didn't care when really, he just wanted to hold the baby.
"here." meghan says as she places caroline in his arms.
dallas looked at the baby before smiling to himself.
"it's me, uncle dally, you're favorite uncle." he exaggerated.
two-bit stared at him before taking his shirt off.
"give her here, i'll show you who's the favorite." two-bit challenged.
"it ain't gonna work, doofus, she already got hypnotized by the skin to skin from lacy." ponyboy stated.
"oh, a show i missed." two-bit sarcastically pouted.
sodapop returns to the living room with a ham and cheese sandwich cut in half for him and lacy, "remind me to keep you 100 feet away from caroline."
he handed the sandwich to lacy who was out of it.
"eat up, we got time on our hands." sodapop encouraged.
lacy sighed, "i know, it's just that i'm so tired."
she rested her head on sodapop's shoulder while studying the room.
"make sure to let johnny hold her too, he ain't going nowhere." sodapop reminded dallas.
"what about me?!" steve scoffs.
"no!" everyone yelled in unison.
charlotte smiled to herself when she saw everyone bonding with caroline, it wasn't the life she predicted but it was something she could live with forever.
