Chapter 9: Old is New

Edward blinked his eyes open having only a vague memory of the last few days. He slid on his glasses and got out of bed. He walked past the mirror at the end of the bed but then turned back looking at himself. "Do you like it Ed? I did it for you." Said Oswald as he also looked much younger. The two men hadn't looked this good in 30 long years, they hadn't looked like this since before Daniel was ever even a thought. Edward leaped across the bed and tackled Oswald hugging him tightly.
"Oswald! Thank you!" Said Edward as  he sat up, their faces were inches from each other. Edward leaned close and kissed Oswald softly. They stopped for a moment both their mouths hanging open and their breathing was shallow but soft. "Oswald?" Asked Edward as he ran his hand down Oswald's chest.
"Yes Ed?" Asked Oswald softly.
"Do you want to do something fun?" Asked Edward as they opened their eyes and they met with the same look of lust for one another. Oswald didn't even have to answer the question because leaned forward and kissed him.

While Edward and Oswald celebrated their newfound youth with an extreme show of passion, a young girl was experimenting. "Lorraine are you coming up for breakfast?" Asked Sarah as she knocked on the cellar door that was on the back of the house. There was no response to her question so she did something she had been afraid to do since Lorraine came back from the dead and that was to go down there. Ever since Lorraine came back she had spent an awful lot of time down there and Sarah couldn't figure why but knew Lorraine liked her privacy so he kept out of Lorraine's business though she was starting to worry. The three days Sarah spent helping Oswald cure Ed, Lorraine had spent down in the cellar so Sarah was starting to worry. Sarah opened the cellar door and went down the stairs. The cellar was dark but there was a single lightbulb hanging from the ceiling so Sarah pulled the string and what the light illuminated horrified her. "Oh my god!" She said as she covered her mouth. The single lightbulb illuminated four dead bodies laying on the cobblestone floor, they had gas masks on over their mouths that were  hooked up to pressurized tanks of toxins. Sarah's horror faded as she was filled with a terrible rage that was either going to be directed at her husband or her in-laws, whichever one influenced such behavior more but they were all likely suspects in her eyes, but first she had to get rid of the bodies, luckily her Dad taught her how when she was 15.

Sarah piled the bodies into her car then drove off to one of her father's old disposal houses. She started melting the bodies in acid when suddenly someone walked in. Sarah quickly armed herself with the hack saw she was using to cut the bodies up then swing the blade at whoever rounded the corner. "Oswald!" Shouted the voice of Edward Nygma as he pulled Oswald outta the way of Sarah's swing.
"You two!? What the hell are you doing here!?" She shouted as she didn't even question their sudden youth.
"Hello! I own this side of town!" Said Oswald as Sarah glared at him gritting her teeth which actually scared him a little. "I-I um... I took ownership of it after Joker um..." Said Oswald as he didn't even try to finish that sentence because she still holding the saw.
"Are you mad at us for some reason?" Asked Edward as he stepped in front of Oswald knowing she wouldn't attack him because of their relationship.
"A little though it's just a blanket accusation until I know I know exactly what the fuck is going on in my damn house!" She shouted as she threw the hacksaw across the room.
"What are you accusing us of exactly?" Asked Oswald as he was still sort of hiding behind Ed.
"Being a bad influence on my daughter." Said Sarah as gestured to the bathtub of body parts.
"Lorraine did that?" Asked Edward as he leaned closer to the tub but started coughing and immediately stepped back covering his mouth.
"Yeah I wouldn't step too close, whatever toxins she pumped these guys full of is still very active." Said Sarah as she coughed for a second and spit up blood on the ground and wiped her mouth staining her pure white skin with deep red blood. "Yeah that keeps happening too, though I recover quickly if you guys get too close you'll collapse on the ground like that guy, who I have to bring after I dispose of all of this." Said Sarah as she pointed over to a cop sitting in the corner of the room with blood drenched down his chest like he had thrown it up.
"Why would she do this?" Asked Oswald as the two of them seemed just as horrified as Sarah so she sighed.
"I don't know, something has been off with her since she came back. She's honestly not the same and I'm starting to notice similarities in her behavior with his." Said Sarah as she sat on the edge of the tub.
"You mean Joker?" Asked Oswald as Sarah nodded.
"Whatever was wrong with my Dad she inherited his sickness and I never found a way to help my Dad so hopefully I can help her before she gets caught." Said Sarah as she stood. "So why are you here?" Asked Sarah as Oswald sighed.
"Daniel called me, said you were down here, he wanted us to check on you because.... Ed you tell her." Said Oswald as Edward looked at him.
"Seriously Oswald." Said Edward as Oswald looked at him.
"Everyday this girl becomes more and more like her father and Joker scared the hell outta me when he became protective of her so I really would rather not upset her!" Said Oswald softly as Edward looked at him. "Oh don't give me that look! She likes you she won't try to kill you but yesterday I made her cry so I'd really rather not upset her again because right now she's become incredibly violent." Said Oswald as Edward sighed and turned back to Sarah.
"So what did Daniel say about me?" Asked Sarah as she stepped towards them, her eyes glowing bright green because of the toxins that were eating away at her lungs but her body was regenerating them so her eyes were glowing just like her father's did. "Come on spit it out." Said Sarah as she picked up a crow bar off the ground and swung it over her shoulder. That image of her holding the crow bar with her father's eyes was so frightening to both of them. Edward turned to Oswald with the two sharing the same frightened look.
"Run?" Asked Edward as nodded.
"Yeah, run." Said Oswald as the two quickly took off and Sarah threw the crow bar in their direction.
"I'm gonna kill him!" She screamed as she kicked the bathtub and let out a frustrated scream.

Daniel stood in the old Falcone mansion which Oswald had taken for himself after Sophia Falcone was put in prison for a number of crimes but was caught specifically for kidnapping Daniel as a baby so Daniel like use her old home as a sort of headquarters for all his operations. Daniel stood there holding a man by his forehead. "You know Donnie, you just keep disappointing me! And you I'm a forgiving man but every man has their limits and you've pushed mine far enough so there has to be punishment, to bad my powers seem to surpass your limits of life but this'll be a nice lesson for everyone else, right boys?" Asked Daniel as Donnie screamed in agony but his screams slowly dulled and the man was reduced to merely ash and charred bone. "So boys, what do ya say, ya gonna disappoint me again?" Asked Daniel as his eyes sparked with blue sparks and lightning. Daniel looked over and saw Oswald and Edward standing at the end of the room and blinked because he thought he was hallucinating. "Alright all of you, get out!" Daniel barked as the men quickly exited and Edward and Oswald walked over.
"I cannot say I've ever been more proud of you in my life." Said Oswald with a smile as Daniel nodded.
"Thanks, WHY DO YOU GUYS LOOK MY AGE!?" Asked Daniel as Oswald sighed.
"This was how we saved your father and I just happened to take some myself because I missed my hair thank you." Said Oswald as Daniel turned around and slid on his gloves so that the lights stopped flickering.
"Also your wife tried to kill us." Said Edward as Daniel turned.
"What? Why would she do that?" Asked Daniel as Oswald sighed.
"Apparently Lorraine is killing people and Sarah was disposing of the bodies." Said Oswald as Daniel blinked.
"Bodies? As in more than one?" Asked Daniel as he was so taken away by this.
"Daniel did you really think she wasn't gonna turn out like us?" Asked Edward as Daniel looked at him.
"How can you say that?! You tried for 10 years to keep me from turning out like you guys!" Said Daniel as Edward walked over to him.
"And look where that got us! You're the most feared crime lord in the city, do you really think that your daughter wouldn't end up like us?" Asked Edward as Daniel sighed.
"I just thought she'd be more like her mother, I don't want her to be like me at all." Said Daniel as Edward put his hand on Daniel's shoulder.
"If there's anything I've learned about being your father, it's that you can't actually expect what you want is what your kids want because they're gonna do what makes them happy and you're just going to have to deal with what makes them happy because they're the most important thing in your life so if your kid isn't happy then nothing else matters." Said Edward as Daniel sighed.
"You're right Dad." Said Daniel as he nodded and walked off.

Once Oswald and Edward were alone, Oswald held Edward's hand and smiled. "You know he's not the only one that learned something from your big climactic speak." Said Oswald as Edward put his hand on the side of Oswald's face and kissed him.

After disposing of the bodies Sarah just decided to go home and wait. Adam walked in the door from school and Lorraine was close after. She walked into the kitchen and grabbed a soda while Sarah was folding laundry. "I'll be down in the cellar, Mama. Call me for dinner." Said Lorraine as Sarah nodded. Lorraine went out the backdoor then Sarah started counting.
"One, two, three-" Lorraine screamed as loud as she couldn't and stormed upstairs.
"WHERE ARE THEY! WHAT DID YOU DO WITH THEM!?" She screamed as Sarah stood.
"You mean the human corpses you were KEEPING UNDER MY HOUSE!!" She screamed at her daughter. "What the hell is wrong with you!? I don't care if you kill someone but don't leave them under the house to rot and to be found!" She screamed as Lorraine glared.
"I need them for my research! Now where are they!?" She demanded through her teeth.
"Gone! I got rid of them! You're welcome!" Said Sarah as Lorraine started breathing heavily and screamed incredibly loudly then stormed outta the house but Sarah followed. "Where the hell are you going?!" Sarah shouted as she stood on the porch.
"I'm going to stay with my grandparents because they would never jeopardize my research!" She shouted as she started walking down the street and Sarah walked down to the sidewalk.
"What are you gonna do, walk there!?" She screamed down the scream as they both stood in the rain getting soaked.
"Yes! Anything to get away from you and ridiculous expectations of me! You know Grandpa J would never have treated you this way if you did what I did so why are you treating me  this way!" Lorraine screamed as Sarah was tired of everyone comparing her to her father.
"YOU KNOW I'M NOTHING LIKE YOUR GRANDFATHER AND I NEVER WILL BE! So go! Go be their problem for a while because I am sick of dealing with my daughter being a prissy little psycho like my father!" Sarah screamed as Lorraine glared at her and screamed and then ran down the street. Sarah stood there for a moment then walked back inside.
"Mom?" Asked Adam as he stood on the stairs.
"Yes?" Asked Sarah as she squeezed the water out of her hair.
"Did you just kick Lorraine out of the house?" Asked Adam as Sarah thought about it for a second.
"Um... Yeah... Yeah I think I just did..." Said Sarah as she covered her mouth and sat on the stairs. "I abandoned my daughter... Oh god..."
