Y/N's POV:
Summer holidays had started and I was glad I could get a short break from Highschool aka hell. I was just happy that I didn't have to see those losers again after this year because I plan on going to (university of choice) which is far away from these annoying cringey people. I think the only decent person here is Dina my best friend, but lately she's been busy with her new boyfriend Jesse, and I don't blame her either. I heard knocking at my room door and pulled out my earphones "Come in." I shout. It was my mum she had this look on her face. "Listen Y/N I know you really want to go to (university of choice), but you need to earn some income, because it's just so expensive and things haven't been exactly the best." She said. My mouth formed an o shape as I stared at her from my bed. "Yeah, yeah not a problem." I said quietly. "I'm sorry Y/N." She said sympathetically. Before I could tell her don't be sorry she left. I decided to quickly phone Dina. "Hey Dino." I immediately said as she answered. "What's up n/n?" She asked. "Well my mum can't pay for university so I need to start working." I said with a small sigh. "Wait does this mean we can't go to university together?" Dina questioned in a panicked voice. "No, no never that Dino. I just need to find a well paying job and I really don't know where I can find one." I groaned. "Hmm have you tried jobfinder.com?" Dina questioned. "No I haven't started looking yet." I replied. "Hold tight n/n." And with that she cut the call. This usually meant Dina was coming over. Moments later I hear my mother answering the door in surprise. "Y/N DINA IS HERE." My mum shouted. And with that me and Dina were exchanging hugs. "Gosh I haven't seen you in ages." I gasped after Dina bear hugged me. "I know, I know sorry I've been with Jesse a lot lately." She said with a pang of guilt in her voice and eyes. "Don't worry about it I get it." I said and gently rubbed her shoulder. "Do you?" She teased. "Ugh shut up." I rolled my eyes and playfully punched her arm. "Dina would you like something to eat?" My mother offered. "No thank you don't worry about it Mrs L/N." Dina said politely and shook her head. I opened my room door and let Dina in and she flopped on my bed and got out my laptop. "What are you doing?" I questioned. "Finding you a job dummy." She said with her eyes glued to the screen. She started listening to Hopes and fears by soma cake and I sunk into my chair at the sound of the intro and relaxed a bit. I heard Dina typing away and clicking until she stopped. I looked up at her from my staring at nothing session. "Okay lazy bones I found something!" She exclaimed. I raised an eyebrow waiting for her to elaborate. "It's at a cute café, it's a simple job and the pay is good. And you can get me coffee discounts!" Dina squealed excitedly. I hugged her "Thanks Dino I really appreciate it." I said softly. "I'm just making up for being a bad friend." She said jokingly as I let go and I just rolled my eyes.
