Lana rested on the bed in her cell, Pride and Prejudice held between her hands, her legs crossed as she read. The soft rustling of pages turning mingled with the distant echoes of conversations and footsteps in the prison.

In the solitude of her cell, Lana had taken it upon herself to partially begin isolating herself from the others. Her symptoms had hardly changed after the few days that had passed, coughing every now and then and brief pits of tiredness. She spent the majority of her time lounging around her cell, only coming out to grab a meal and then going back in.

She didn't want to be confined to cell block D like the others, but she couldn't join the healthy kids either. So, she stayed to herself.

The murmur of voices from a few feet away disrupted the tranquillity of Lana's reading. Carl and Rick were engaged in an argument. "It's for your own good," Rick's voice cut through the air.

Carl huffed in response, and Lana could hear the subtle sounds of fabric being moved around. "I'm fine. I don't want to be locked away with a bunch of kids."
