Akashi's POV
"Akashi-kun, why? Why did you tell the team to play like that?" I sat on the bench with annoyance while hearing [F/n]'s complain about our previous game.
I chuckled and stood up from my seat, "Heh, 'why'? You're the one who always tell us to play with all our strength, [F/n]. I'm just doing my part as a captain. So the team can be more satisfied with the score we've made." I said as I covered my head with a towel.
"But... But I never told you to stop working as a team! Basketball aren't suppose to work like that!" She frowned and raised her voice.
"Then what do you expect us to do? Besides, from the beginning basketball is just about winning. Nothing's more important than a victory. Victory is everything. Without looking forward to victory, basketball is nothing. Am I wrong?"
She stayed silent.
Since none of us said another word. I decided to stop all this none sense and broke the silence, "I've learned from my mistakes, [F/n]. For us, the Generation of Miracles, right now teamwork is nothing but an obstacle for us. Even if it's just one of us, it's enough to win against them. So... I've decided to throw away this thing you called 'teamwork' and I let them play as an individual. That way, victory is much easier for us to reach." Then I turned my feet away. Leaving her alone on the bench, staring blankly at me from behind as I stepped my feet further and further.
Your POV
"Akashi-kun..." I watched the red head slowly disappear from my sight. I lowered my head and covered my face with both of my hands, trying as best as I can to hold tears that starting to form in my eyes.
"That's not what I meant, Akashi-kun. There's so much more important than a victory. I just... I just don't know how to make you realize it. I really, don't know."
Akashi's POV
~~Akashi's Thoughts~~
"What did you do?!" I pulled 'The Emperor' roughly from behind the iron bars that separate us with anger. "You promised that you'll keep the team together! You promised that things will go back to normal! You lied to me!"
The Emperor chuckled and shrugged my hands, "Me? Lie? Heh, what's getting into you? I already did everything in our deal. Just think about it, what did I do wrong?"
"What did 'you' do wrong?!"
"I've got the team under my control again just as I promised. Now they'll obey 'us' no matter what. This way none of them would dare to go against us ever again."
"But... You threw away the most precious thing that I had with them. You threw away our teamwork. Our togetherness."
"It's for the best." The Emperor patted my shoulder, a smirk plastered on his face. "Because I realize something. I think starting from now I have to give them a 'little freedom'."
My eyes widen and I clenched my fist, "Is that why you let the other members in team 1 to skipped practice as well?"
"Yes. Don't you realize it already? Sometimes a leader has to make a tough decision for the sake of his leadership."
