P.O.V Allyson
I was startled awake, my six o'clock alarm scaring the crap out of me. Will's arms tightened around me as soon as I jumped. "Will?" I pushed on his chest, He slept like a rock. "William Keeper Wake Up!" He didn't bulge. "I'm going to push you if you don't get up." I pounded on his chest a few times. Okay I warned you; with all my strength I pushed him off the bed.
"Ahg, Ally! WHY?" He sat up
I couldn't help but laugh, "I warned you."
He ruffled his hand through his messy bed head, "You can't count warning a sleeping person that you're going to push him, it's just not fair Ally."
"I'm sorry." I said, still laughing, I wasn't really sorry. He just sat there on the floor staring up at me. I was about to ask what when Kevin my guinea pig tossed himself onto Williams lap. Kevin is my little escape artist; he never wanted to stay in his cage. So eventually I started leaving his cage open. I got him on my 8th birthday. After I begged and pleaded with my mom for me to get a pet. When she gave in, she dropped me and William off at the pet store with 50 bucks. Will and I walked around, and around till we spotted him. He was in a cage by himself, all white and tiny, he was absolutely perfect. It was love at first sight.
"Ally?" Will's voice tore me from my thoughts. "Hmm?" I looked down at him. "We should start getting ready for school." He stood up as he spoke and placed Kevin on my dresser. I nodded and stood up, and made my way to my bathroom to shower. As I got in I heard him talking to Kevin, telling him to stay out from under his feet or he'll pretend not to see him next time. I showered and dressed quickly, catching my gaze in the mirror, I noted I looked nothing like my mother or brother. I was a strawberry blonde and they were brunet's, I had dark green eyes and they had creamy brown. The differences never bothered me before, but now I know that I am something different.
When I opened the door I saw William sitting at my desk swaying in my chair. "Well." I said, "Let's go." He chuckled and walked out of my bedroom holding my backpack along with his. Lyle my little brother jumped out in front of us as we reached his bedroom door. "Will!" he yelled on the top of his lungs, and charged at him. William dropped our bags to pick him up and pretend to punch him. Lyle is only 12yrs old, his brown curly hair which framed his face bounced as he giggled. William pretends to slam Lyle on the ground and then tickles his sides. My brother then stands up, punches Will in the arm and runs quickly to his room slamming the door behind him. Laughter continued behind the door. Chuckling Will picks up our bags and continues down the hall to the stairs.
My mom was already heading out the door as we reached the bottom. "Mom?" She jumped at the sound of my voice. "Where are you going?"
She barely turned as she spoke, "They called me in early for work." And she slipped out. That was weird. Will grabbed my car keys from the hanger. I'm guessing that means that he was driving. My car was parked in the spot farthest from the house. It was a blue Volkswagen Beetle two door convertible. My mom bought it for me on my 16th birthday, so it was still pretty new. I've never gotten into an accident or even any near misses; don't get me wrong, I'm a pretty reckless driver sometimes. But I've also never broken a phone, or computer. Everyone thinks it's odd that I've never broken things, not even by accident.
"Ally? Are you okay?" Will asked as we got into the car.
I nodded, "Yeah just thinking." Before he could ask what I continued. "Is it odd that everything feels so normal, even though I know it's not?"
He chuckled and began to drive, "Welcome to my- well our world now." It was a weird thought, that it's normal to have demons after you. I'm something different and I get to share whatever it is with my best friend.
