TIME WILL TELL

Three in the morning, but I can't close my eyes
When all my internal thoughts come alive and my smile dies
When I come to think of the innocent kids depressed from betrayal and lies
One day, in a mansion with a happy family the next day in an old shack filled with lice

Ever think of the homeless and abandoned kid?
Whose parents passed on and didn't get the chance to read
You could have been the same, but lucky you... God did
Think of it we are all like  empty bottles...difference is they have a broken lid

Look... where I'm from, people don't make it out overnight
It's all about your determination and fight
People know the importance of family... the guys who teach you what's wrong and right
The people who push you to get to a different height

I've seen grown men with three kids sleep in a bar
The next morning, go ahead and insult the man who worked hard to buy his own car
Complain about how successful women put on coats made of expensive fur
But...aren't they enjoying the fruits of their hard work, Mr Drunkard, sir?

It took seventeen years for me to see...
Life is about risks, and the harsh truth is that sometimes you'll have to pay the fee
But isn't that what defines you and shapes you to be the person you want to be...?

But most importantly, think of the man who made you and thank him on your knee.
