ANNA'S HEART ATTACK

I met Anna the other day at work and asked her what she was doing for the weekend
She said Justin I can't do this anymore, I'm stuck in the deep end
She said she broke up with her knight in rusty armour, and she couldn't even pretend

I took her to a bar on Saturday, and she told me she's had enough of life
She imagined herself putting on a white gown and matching it with the title wife
I saw her move her hand, and my heart skipped a beat when she picked up a knife

I took her home, and she said she was used to Jason calling her his super star
But the only thing Jason left her with was a shining super scar
I saw Anna, and her emotions had a wrestling match, and it was a super spar

The next day, I took Anna to church, and the preacher said something about trust
He said something about it being shiny and beautiful, but Anna laughed and said eventually it would rust
She said Jason was as beautiful as a Will Smith movie, but she wasn't part of the cast

Wednesday was valentines, and we watched people hold hands and walk into bars
Anna said all she saw was a bunch of idiot women who would suffer from battle scars
But honestly, all I saw was Cupid's work and successful men leading their ladies into flashy cars.

On Thursday, Anna came to work, but she forgot to put on her smile
She lost her confidence. It was like she was in an empty church walking down the aisle
I told her she should at least go out and have fun. It's been a while

On Friday, I went to her house, and I saw a yellow note on the table
It was Anna, she wrote Jason called her and told her he found a fiancee and Anna said she wasn't stable
So I walked to her room and saw her pretty eyes closed all the consequences of a laptop cable.
I couldn't believe what I saw. She was a gem. She was pretty, intelligent, and able

I drove to Jason's house to tell him what he'd done
I knocked, and I was welcomed by a lady whose hair was tied in a bun
I guess she was the new fiancee, and she seemed like with Jase, she was having fun

I saw Jason and told her Anna was dead, and it was because of his call
He couldn't care less and said it was Anna's fault. She's the master of her own fall
Eventually, I went to her cremation, and I couldn't believe Jason didn't have any sense of regret in his soul

I went home and thought to myself the importance of taking care of your own self

People don't care about you. They'll leave you to rot like an old book in an abandoned shelf
And now I write stories trying to show the importance of their life like a fairytale Elf
