"Hey Pigtails, Sugar Cube." The little black kitten announced flying through Marinette's door.
"Plagg! What are you doing here, you should be with you holder!" Tikki scolded. "What if someone saw you?"
"Pssht... no one saw me. The kids in his bathroom trying not to vomit after that liar tricked him into a goodbye kiss," green eyes shining with mirth as he fell to his side, clutching his stomach, laughing so hard tears were building in his eyes.
"Plagg, that's not very nice. Was the date really that bad?" Marinette asked scooping the little god out of the air and into her hands.
"Well... it all started with Adrien and sausage hair, getting on the boat. They had..."
Remembering the date his holder had just experienced, he lay on his back putting his hands behind his head and continued the tale...
The yacht was big. There was a little table in the center of the bow with two seats. It was surrounded by candle-light and fairy lights to set a mood of romance. Lila had worn a very revealing, black, bodycon number, her large, fake breasts practically falling out when she bent forward. The dress was backless, not allowing her to wear a bra, which didn't help with how low the neckline was. The worst part though, was how short the dress had been, nothing left to the imagination, since you could see she wasn't wearing panties.
Adrien groaned when his eyes met the vomit green of the girls, but ever the gentleman her gulped down the nausea and pulled out the chair for her to sit. Over the next two hours, Lila talked about how she knew so many famous people. She told Adrien how she had babysat Jagged Stone's kitten a few times and how she worked in philanthropy with Prince Ali.
She had even said she had met his mother when she was still alive, saying that she had wanted them to meet and fall in love, because they had such an amazing experience back then. Adrien's mother had never mentioned her while she was alive, he would have remembered if his mother had betrothed him, surely his father wouldn't be doing this show if that was true.
As the dinner ended, Adrien immediately rose from his seat, pulling hers out and helping her stand. He walked beside her to the limo and as he was holding the door for her, she asked if he could lean down for her to tell him a secret. Adrien being well oblivious Adrien, did just that, ending up with the lips of endless lies on his own, her right arm wrapping around him pulling him closer as her left grasp his ass, making his gasp so she could slip her snake of a tongue into his mouth. He was able to finally push the succubus away but not unscathed and traumatized to say the least. The feeling of a hot, wet stinging on his neck, where nail marks had punctured his skin...
"And that's the story Pigtails. The kid's brushed his teeth at least twenty times in the last hour since we got back. I think he was chugging mouth wash in the car ride back here too," Plagg started laughing again thinking about his kid's black cat luck.
"Ah, poor Adrien. I wouldn't wish that disgusting liar on my worst enemy," Marinette murmured making Plagg laugh even harder and fly from her hands.
"Pigtails, the kid literally is your worst enemy, well except for his dad the butterfly man."
"You know what I mean. Adrien's not my enemy. Chat may be at least for now, but hopefully not for long. Has he said anything to you about me?"
"Pigtails you or Ladybug you?"
"Both."
"Eh. He's been reciting poetry about Ladybug for years; the kids got it bad for the redbug you. Well, that was until he met this you," he motioned to her current self.
Ignoring the current her comment, "What do you mean years?"
"The kids been in love with Ladybug since you all got your miraculous from Fu. He's just been working with his dad, because well, you do stupid stuff for family," he shrugged.
"Plus, his mom's in this weird casket thing in the basement in some kind of magic coma. He wants mommy dearest back. Can't really blame him, but deep down the kids not a bad kid, he's just not got many options, ya know?"
Plagg described Adrien's situation as if it was nothing to shake a hat at, licking his paws as Marinette stared at him, mouth slightly agape.
Turning to her kwami, "Tikki, didn't Master Fu say that the reason we can't let Hawkmoth and Chat get the earrings is because it would end this world? The wish would rewrite everything we know of this world, and someone would have to be used as a sacrifice for the next?"
Nodding, Tikki flew to Marinette's face. "Yes, Marinette. If they were to join the two miraculous then a sacrifice would need to be made, and it is usually someone else or something else of equal value. For example, if you wanted red peas, you would have to get green strawberries instead."
"Or if you wanted your wife back you would have to give up the only other family you had..." Marinette paused, her heart starting to beat so hard, it actually brought her pain.
Adrien. Gabriel is planning to trade his own son, to get his wife back.
Her thought causing a shutter, bringing her back to the current situation.
Adrien was being used by his own father.
"Plagg, does he know? Does Adrien know what will happen if his father gets the wish?"
Still not looking to her, now cleaning his face," Tried... to... tell...him once, he wouldn't listen. Said his ... father would never... do something like that, that he uh...loved him," he said in between paw licks.
A distraught look overtook Marinette's face, a tear making its way down her cheek. Tikki flew to her giving her the best hug she could being so small.
"It'll be okay Mari; we will figure it out. Figure out how to help him."
"Thanks, Tikki. My poor minou," she said grasping the skirt of her dress as a knock at the door startled the three. Plagg and Tikki flying off into Marinette's snack drawer.
"Come in."
"Ms. Dupain-Cheng. It is time for the rose ceremony. We will not need you to participate as you have already been given a rose, but your presence is requested," the stoic as ever, assistant of Gabriel Agreste expressed. "I'll be right down, Natalie, thank you." Marinette sweetly responded as Natalie closed the door.
"One more thing before I head downstairs. Does Adrien know? Today was quite a strong indicator pointing to my identity. Did he figure it out?"
"Eh... kids' kind of oblivious to anything and everything. Blame being homeschooled. But he is suspicious for sure, I mean that comment he made about changing your costume, I think he was trying to gauge your reaction. Since you didn't really give him too much, he's still not 100% sure. Or he's just hoping he's wrong, I know he wouldn't want to unnecessarily put you in this. His Father though, I think he knows."
"Thanks, good to know."

Before leaving the room for the rose ceremony, Marinette let Plagg in on her plan to win Adrien's love. He didn't really think it was a big deal the kid was already smitten, but she had insisted, he do all he could to keep Adrien from accepting that she was Ladybug. She needed him to love her enough to reject his father's requests and work with her. She would find a solution for his mother, but she didn't want anything to happen to him, especially if it meant he would replace her in a coma.
She might not be in love yet, but after everything she had learned from her years as Ladybug and conversations with Fu, Tikki, and Luka as he was translating the grimoire, she knew her, and Chat were soulmates. They were yin and yang, opposites who were made for each other and the universe wanted to keep it that way. She had to keep him safe, while also keeping her earrings and Paris safe too. This just became a lot more complicated, and the worst was she was living under the same roof as her arch nemesis, who he probably knew who she was.
