The two miraculous holders were watching their backs constantly, never sure when Gabriel would decide to attack. Marinette even moved into Adrien's room, to keep them both safer during their most vulnerable time, while sleeping. With both kwami's in the room keeping watch, there was less opportunity to be surprised.

Fortunately for the duo, today was also another day of competition. The girls would be fighting for Adrien's love a different way though, video games. Mecha Strike, to be exact. Knowing that she would win any match she played, she expected Adrien to be sent out on a date with another girl, but she would once more receive a rose for her victory. The only part that was worrying was that while Adrien was gone, she would be without him in the same house as Gabriel.

"It will be okay Mari. I will leave Plagg here with you."

"No, need, I have Tikki. Plus, kwami's shouldn't use their powers without their wielder. It causes crazy universal consequences that we can never know beforehand," Marinette explained as she pulled on a knee length red sweater dress and black leggings. Pulling her hair into a high pony, she turned back to her boyfriend. "Let's just get this over with. You can go on your date and come home to me. Hopefully it will be quick enough that Gabriel won't have time to try anything." The smile she gave him as she finished speaking brightened the room, washing over him.

"You know Mari, you have her smile." Adrien said moving toward the bluenette, her brows now furrowed questioningly. "My mother. It makes me feel the same. Her smile always made me feel so special, so loved. I never thought I would feel that again, once she went into her coma, but when you smile at me. I feel the same way." He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her to him, until their lips met, in a slow, sweet kiss.

A knock from the door pulled them apart, far earlier than they wished. "Adrien, it is time for the next competition," Natalie's ever stoic face and monotone voice were present in his room now. "Ms. Dupain-Cheng, I suggest you leave after Adrien. We don't need anyone seeing you and ruining the show." She turned on her heel and walked back out the door without another word. With one more peck to the lips, Adrien pulled away and exited his room. Marinette waiting a few moments, before following behind him.

The camera's started rolling, making their way throughout the entryway where everyone was waiting. Adrien stood before the host, patiently waiting for the introduction to start the day. "Welcome back to Love with Adrien Agreste, we are getting closer to finding out who Adrien will select, but today we have a competition special to Adrien's heart. Today the girls will be in a competition against Adrien and each other playing his favorite game, Mecha Strike!"

To begin the competition Adrien drew the names of two girls, pairing them to compete against one another. However, for this trial, there was a catch. The losing girls would be pitted against each other in a challenge, only one to receive a rose. The girls who win the initial match would be saved from immediate elimination and have the opportunity to attend the rose ceremony. However, the only way to win a date with Adrien is to win all out. The final girl to challenge Adrien for an automatic rose as well. The stakes were high and so were the nerves of the girls in the room.

"Okay Ladies!" Adrien started, clapping his hands in excitement.

"I can't wait to see what you all got! Mecha Strike is my favorite game ever and knowing that I have a girl who can challenge me not only in everyday life, but also in my hobbies, if really important to me. So, let's see what you got!" Adrien plastered on his model smile, the girls in the room giggling at his cockiness. Marinette silently shaking her head, her Chaton was such a silly kitty. They may have been equals over the last few years fighting against each other, but today, she was gonna kick his butt at Mecha Strike III.
