Rachel couldn't stop thinking about everything that happened the day before. She couldn't wrap her head around the fact that she almost died and that Mira had a twin brother who died the same way that she would have. She was still a little too overwhelmed to process everything that happened. She concluded that it might be better to forget about everything for now, at least until they saved the world.
"Why do you look like you haven't slept for days?" Caleb asked, sitting down at the table. As usual, he poured himself a big cup of hot chocolate and ate almost all the bacon and eggs.
"You don't look any better. Have you been playing games the whole night again?"
He remained silent for a little while. "Don't tell mum."
"Caleb, when will you learn that it isn't healthy for you? There are many greater things in life than playing games all day and night."
Caleb just rolled his eyes. Rachel knew there was no use in trying to convince him otherwise. Games were his life; they were what kept him going and entertained him. She just shook her head. She was too tired for this. They had argued about this many times. Each time ends up with Caleb not hearing what Rachel is saying and only thinks about his own opinion. She gave up on trying to convince him.
Rachel was feeling hungry this morning. All the other mornings, she was too worried about what they had to do and everything that could go wrong, but now it felt like she had a giant weight lifted from her shoulders. She wasn't happy about not being allowed to go with them to the world of technology, but she decided that maybe it wasn't such a bad idea after all. She was a lot easier to see than the guardians, and she didn't have all the special abilities that they had. And she didn't want to go through everything she had to go through when the bots caught her.Rachel couldn't focus on class. She drew doodles of everything that happened last night in her science book. She couldn't stop thinking about how they would take down that robot and turn everything back to normal. It sounded so complicated to her. A flying cat shows up and tells her that there is more than one world, and she has to help save all the worlds. It was a lot to think about. She still doesn't know how Finnigan convinced her to go with him. A smile started to grow on her face. Even though she was in the middle of chaos, there were still so many things to be happy about. She discovered that a world of imagination exists and made many imaginary friends who aren't imaginary after all; she couldn't think of anything better.
