Rachel waited right next to the door. The robots would have to come in at any time now to give her more food and water.
She was correct.
One robot came in. He couldn't understand where she was. As soon as he was in, she closed the door and went behind him. She took the bottle and threw the liquid into the back of his neck. He fell down to the floor and was completely dead. Now Rachel had to move quickly .
She took his head off and started to pull out all the wires and everything inside of him until it was all empty. She then got into what was left of the robot and emptied its head out and placed it over hers. It fitted her like a glove. She just didn't like the smell and the feeling of it, but it was the only way to get out.
There were no robots outside of the door, which was a good sign. But the problem was that Rachel had no idea where she was. It looked just like the rest of the factory. There was no clue that could give her an idea of where she is. She decided to just start walking, sooner or later she would recognise where she was. She just had to get to the second stage in the factory, where the bots were waiting for the guardians. Then she could follow them and save the guardians.
She walked as fast as she could without looking suspicious. None of the robots suspected anything. She walked and walked for ages, it felt like she was getting nowhere. Until finally. She saw something that she knew would lead her to the right place.
A bunch of robots were walking with lasers. Rachel recognised the lasers that they had. She walked to get closer to them, and for the first time in her life, she had really good luck. One of the robots called her.
"Take this. The boss is bringing in guardians. I have other things to do". For the first time, Rachel felt like this mission was actually starting to work out for her.
She nodded, scared that they might notice her voice is different. She took the laser and walked with the rest of the robots. She had an idea that they were going to the room where she was almost shot with a laser.
Rachel started to get second thoughts about this plan as well. It was her against many robots. She can't just shoot them and hope for the best. They were going to shoot her back, then she won't be able to save the guardians. She had to wait for the right time to take them down. The guardians won't be able to help her with this, they will be tied down. She would have to do this alone. It felt as if the butterflies in her stomach had decided to drink a few energy drinks. Rachel didn't know what she was thinking, but there was no turning back now. She just had to do this. The world was depending on her.
Rachel kept on repeating to herself that she could do this, even though she felt like she couldn't. She tried to not think about all the things that could go wrong. She tried to stay positive and believe that everything would be fine. It wasn't as easy as it sounds. Her mind kept bringing up new things that could go wrong.
Rachel took a deep breath and decided that she can't turn back now. She'll just have to believe in herself and do this.
They walked through three giant rooms before they finally got somewhere that Rachel recognised. It was where all of the devices got packaged and then sent to the third stage. They left the second stage and got to a small room that she could tell was an office. All of the robots walked in, left their lasers at the door, and stood in a line in front of the table.
"We're here boss." One of the bots said.
Rachel instantly knew who it was.
The person turned their chair around. Mike was sitting with a pen in his hand. He was busy taking notes on a whiteboard behind his desk. It was his steps to take over the world.
Step 1: Hack into the world of technology. Get the robots on my side.
Step 2: Get the guardians to come here.
Step 3: Get rid of the guardians.
Step 4: Take over the world.
"You're probably wondering why I called all of you here. We have four very special guests coming to visit us. Be on the lookout for them. Do not let them get away. Go make sure everything is ready." He turned to face his whiteboard again.
He already crossed out steps 1 and 2, now it was just steps 3 and 4 that still had to take place.
The robots all walked in a line out of the room. Rachel followed them to the room where they took her. She was blindfolded the last time, but now she could clearly see where they were taking her. The room looked just like any normal room. It had the same bright lights as the one where she was kept, and no windows. It was super cold. The only difference now was that there were four chairs, and not one.
They placed all of the lasers facing the chairs.
Rachel didn't have a plan at all. She wished that she had thought this all through. But there was no backing out now. Rachel walked around the factory, pretending to be really busy. She stayed close to the room where they left the lasers in case they found the guardians. Rachel tried figuring out a plan, but her mind was completely blank. She knew she couldn't go into that room without having a plan, but she just couldn't think of anything.
It wasn't long before she was notified that the guardians had been caught and that she had to report for duty.
