after katara and zuko returned, the group had decided to go to ember island, where the fire lord's vacation house stood empty and ready for use.

Liara was laid on the concrete, lazily playing with a monarch butterfly by gently blowing it up and down with a light spring of air.

she was just in the yellow tank that she usually wore, the vermilion sash was neatly folded on her bed, as it was useless to wear out and about, and her hair was messily draped along the floor, much like the rest of her body.

they had been hiding there for a few days, and even went to watch a play, but now she was just bored.

and she couldn't practice her soundbending without blowing an eardrum or two.

so now she just laid, playing with a butterfly as aang and zuko trained.

she had noticed aang being a bit more on his toes and nervous for the past two days, but she figured that it was just anxiety because he had to fight the fire lord.

"who wants a nice cool glass of watermelon juice?"

this made liara fly up from her position, instantly landing in front of katara for a watermelon, and almost cried from joy when she was handed one.

however, zuko wasn't as joyful, bacause he held poor aang by the collar, preventing him from getting watermelon juice.

"your lesson isn't over yet!"

Liara rolled her eyes at him. "relax, zuko. take a break." she said, sipping on her juice

the teen boy huffed and let aang go, allowing him to some watermelon juice.

sokka then called beach party and the group went down to the sands.

Liara was dressed in a maroon bandeau and maroon boyshorts, she had put her hair up into a half-bun and she was windsurfing in the water, using a wooden board and her glider.

she surfed up and down the waves, a large smile adorning her features sas she did so.

this was the fun activities that she had been longing for. the sun beating down on her skin, the wind in her sails, the cool water beneath her. it was absolutely perfect.

as she surfed to the shore, she noted aang and sokka building sand sculptures while suki was tanning and toph was relaxing in the shade.

Liara hopped off of the board and closed her glider, before judging sokka's sculpture.

"what the hell is that?" she questioned as aang came to stand next to her, "a blubbering blob monster?" he questioned, looking at the sculpture.

Liara shrugged, "maybe a blob fish.. like those near whale tail island."

sokka's shoulders sank, "its suki."

aang snorted as liara placed a hand over her mouth in surprise. sokka was really bad as sculptures... maybe aang had to teach him a thing or two.

as aang showed liara his appa and diki love sculpture, a sudden punch of flame hit it, resulting in appa's head caving in and half diki's face to fall off.

Liara gasped in surprise, turning around to scowl at whoever just ruined the sand bison romance.

Zuko was still fully dressed, and had begun to attack aang and the team.

"zuko what are you doing?!" the airbender boy yelped as zuko continued attacking him. "teaching you a lesson." the fire bender replied before sending another flame to his opponent.

Liara was perplexed, was zuko attacking aang as a firebendimg lesson? she sure hoped so, otherwise he'd switch back to the bad side.

opening her glider, she flew up to follow aang and zuko to the roof or the house, she then switched her position on her glider to begin air-surfing.

"what's going on!" she yelled to zuko, who merely sent a blast of fire her way, resulting in the girl falling off of her glider.

luckily, she used her bending to safely float down to the ground.

maybe he did go crazy. or mayby not. it's hard to tell.

just a moment later, zuko was blasted out of the house and landed right next to her.

"you good?" the girl said nonchalantly, helping the teenager up.

just then, katara and the others came closer to them as aang landed next to liara as well. "what's wrong with you?! you could've hurt aang!" katara yelled at the fire bender.

"what's wrong with all of you?! how can you sit round having beach parties when the comet is just three days away?" zuko quipped, huffing smoke from his nose.

aang rubbed the back of his head, "about that, I was thinking to fight ozai after the comet." he stated shyly.

Liara's head whipped over to the boy, the information being new to her, and  to zuko.

the boy sighed, "I just need more time to master firebending."

Liara placed a hand around aang and gave him a side hug to comfort the boy, but zuko's face remained stern.

"you have to defeat him." zuko pressed, "or else he's gonna burn the earth kingdom to the ground."

oh no.

Liara's heart sank, he was gonna use the comet to do to the earth kingdom what they did to the air temples.
