my dearest, liara,

as I write this, you are back home with the children and I am currently flying north to the water tribes on a mission.

although, when you read this, it will hopefully be many years from now. the children will be grown up and leading their own lives.

since the day that we met at the Eastern air temple when I was six, you were seven, I knew that you would be a very important person in my life. I knew from day one that you'll be by my side for the rest of my life.

I love you, my dear liara. more than words can comprehend. that day of zuko's coronation, when I said it to you for the first time, I knew that the last time I'll say it to you would be on my deathbed.

you are the most beautiful person i have ever met. your heart and soul is as pure as platinum, and your smile is as bright as the sun.

it is an extremely difficult thought to think of a world where you and I aren't together, and one of us is left living while the other loses their strength. I cannot fathom a world without you, my love.

for our entire marriage, you have been the wind in my sails, the one thing driving me forward. as I am saving the world, liara, you are saving me. and I definitely do not show my appreciation enough. thank you, my love.

I promise to love you fovever. and when death takes my hand on the faithful day that I lose the last of my strength, I will hold your hand with the other. and I promise to keep loving you even after death do us part.

I can't wait to see you again, it's only a matter of time.

with unending love,
your husband,
aang.
