VEGAS

Vegas ended the call with Kinn after arranging the details of how they would proceed from now on. Within two weeks, Kim, Porschay, Macau and Tankhun would arrive along with Arm, Pol and Charlie to take care of Lin Sang and Pete’s grandparents security and keep company to Pete while Vegas was away. Vegas would travel to Taiwan with Kim the next day after his arrival.

Of course, Vegas was hesitant about leaving Pete by himself in Chumphon, even though he wouldn’t be completely alone there, Vegas was well aware of how he would feel during the entire time and he wasn’t that excited for this part. He knew how worried and anxious Pete would be, but that was a fair price to pay in order to keep him safe and sound in a place that Vegas knew people will take a good care of him. With a sigh, Vegas turned himself to stare the bathroom’s closed door, where Pete disappeared into a couple of minutes ago and still hasn’t come out yet. After Kinn reassurance that everything would be fine and Vegas would be back safe, Pete only nodded and said that he needed to go to the bathroom for a second, but judging his eyes shimmering with tears, Vegas was quite doubtful that his fiancée just wanted to pee or something.

“Pete...” Vegas called his name while getting up from the bed and walking towards the door, knocking gently. “Babe, are you okay in there?”

Without any warning, Pete opened the door, startling Vegas a little bit, who immediately stepped back to get out of Pete’s way. He frowned when he saw his fiancée who seemed so sad before, but now, was all dressed up with clear pants and a blue loose button up shit that, by the way, was partially unbuttoned, revealing Pete’s chest. Pete was also smelling incredibly good and Vegas quickly recognized the scent of his own perfume, the one Pete loved the most; his hair was slightly wet, but carefully styled, with his bangs faintly on his forehead. The sad expression from before was long gone, aside from a slight redness around his eyes.

“What?” Pete asked when he saw the face Vegas was making. “You don’t like it?”

Vegas blinked a few times, part of him was a little confuse on what all of that was about, but the other part was still mesmerized with how pretty Pete looked. He even put his silver earring on and everything.

“What’s that all about?” Vegas asked, still staring at Pete.

“I thought we would go to the festival... the one that nice lady told us about in the market.”

Vegas frowned again. He was well aware that Pete showed some interest towards the festival by the beach, but he wasn’t quite sure if they were in the right mood to go out and party like nothing happened. After all, Pete was quite sad just a few minutes ago.

“Are you okay?” He asked.

Pete sighed and smiled faintly at Vegas.

“You’re travelling within two weeks without me.” Pete started. “The idea of us coming here was not only to talk with Lin Sang about the Golden Lizard, but also to spend some time together; we didn’t have this since we start dating. So, instead of being here, inside the room, mad at Kinn for interrupting us and at you for leaving, I decided that the best thing to do is to enjoy our last days together here in Chumphon.”

“Makes sense...” Vegas said. “But aren’t you tired? You barely slept.”

“I’ll have all the time in the world to sleep once we come back home.” Pete said with a smile. “But now, I really want you to have the festival experience with me; just like I had so many times in the past...”

Vegas just shrugged and pulled Pete close by the hem of his trousers, ending completely the gap between them, making him capable to smell the shampoo scent on Pete’s hair. It was funny how just a couple of weeks ago, they could get closer to each other easily and now, there was a tiny bump getting in the way, slightly, but still present enough for them to acknowledge Venice’s presence there.
